Both series are about a group of people that are forced into a kill-or-be-killed "game" on a regular basis with little warning, in which the monstrous opponents are not the only threat. Gantz has a lot of blood, gore, and sexual content, while :REverSAL is light on the blood, has little gore, and no sexual content.

Although tied by their core concept – a survival game, both take different approaches on executing such. :REverSAL is concentrated on only one game and Real Account takes on various games in accordance with the mastermind's whims.

Our MCs suddenly find themselves in a world full of zombies, and they have no other way than to fight their way through, in order to survive in this new world. Both manga have good art, especially Reversal.

It started with a harmless-looking game and ended up in blood, desperation, and panic. :REverSAL and Darwin's Game feature what may appear as your conventional death game, albeit the former uses a more scientific approach. Both have unique types of weaponry used by a vast set of characters; these characters are on constant war not only physically, but also mentally on whom to trust, or what to believe in.

Psyren, just like :REverSAL itself, is a manga apparently inspired by Gantz. In both Psyren and :REverSAL people from the street find themselves fighting for their lives in missions happening in a strange version of our own world - be it the not-so-distant future or simply a mirror world. In both series the key to getting involved is technology (phones or game consoles). And in both series there might be more than meets the eye to the monsters that are being fought.

Students are thrown into a game where if they cannot get out, they die.

While ultimately, Liar Game and :REverSAL fall under different genres, there are also some great similarities between the two. In both of these mangas, the main protagonist is a naive girl who gets stuck in a very sticky situation which she is expected by all her peers to resolve by harming others. However, as this goes against her very nature, she tries to solve everything by being nice to others instead, making others mock her initially yet producing unexpected results.

While the plots are not very similar, both have the same "feel" to them- suspense, gore, etc. While Reversal was short (and rather rushed) DW is pretty long and still publishing.
