Synopsis

Kirari Tsukishima is a beautiful yet gluttonous 14-year-old girl. While those around her are worshiping the popular idol duo, SHIPS, she only devotes herself to food. One day, however, Kirari, who is dense when it comes to the matters of the heart, encounters Seiji Hiwatari of SHIPS and falls in love with him at first sight. In order to be with him, she aspires to become an idol herself. With the help of SHIPS—the gentle Seiji and the bad-mouth Hiroto Kazama—and her cat mascot Naa-san, Kirari pursues the entertainment world, where she discovers that being an idol is not all fun and games, and that in order to persevere in both her love and her career, she must overcome any challenges that fortune has in store.

14 year-old Tsukishima, Kirari is a simple girl with a love for food (ironically, she's thin) so simple in fact, that she doesn't care about celebrities but all that changes when she 'coincidentally' meets with a singer from the popular band 'Ships'.

The first thing that I didn't like was: 'Ships'. I mean why ships? Why not boat or bicycles, actually why a means of transport? It could've been 'Tiger' or even 'Ferrari,' why 'SHIPS'?

Back to the point, the story was very flat, very 2D, very boring. There was no suspense and it was pretty much a lolita-style story. Where there are 'bad' people and read more

Premise:
Kirarin(star) Revolution starts out with the typical, "kid wants to be famous star and immediately gets an audition/record contract with a huge music corporation or the coveted lead actress role. However, the difference in those other cliche shows are the characters and their interactions and the wacky hijinks they go through before getting to that high status of life. It's lot more fun seeing the journey, you know! I would have loved a few scenes of the idol auditioning process being much harder (especially since they weren't even looking for her type). She should have had to go through rounds of eliminations and read more
