First-year high school student Kiri Koshiba is a skilled hairstylist. Whenever others are bullied or ridiculed for their appearance, she steps in to do some "magic," giving them makeovers that bring out their natural beauty.

At Kiri's school, three second-year students make up the popular Scissors Project (SP): Shougo Narumi, the hairstylist; Kei Minami, the nail artist; and Kazuhiko Ochiai, the overall beauty consultant. The SP selectively chooses one female student to makeover and produces amazing results every time.

When Kanako Aoyama, Kiri's childhood friend, confesses her feelings to Ochiai by giving him a present, she is accused of bribing her way into becoming the next girl for an SP makeover. Kiri comes to Kanako's defense and performs some "magic" on her, leaving the SP stunned at Kanako's transformation. Not knowing who is responsible, the SP searches for Kanako's hairstylist in order to have a haircutting showdown, the start of a rivalry between Narumi and Kiri.

Beauty Pop is a lovely story with fantastic characters!

The story wasn't to complicated and it was easy to follow but only enjoyable to read, and the characters are all well drawn and got their own (incredably cute) personality. Yes, the story in the beginning wasn't all my cup of tea, but the more I read the more I fell in love with the humor and the characters.

The art overall maybe isn't all that outstanding, but allthough it was sometimes a little plain the drawing style is cute and wery sutable towards the story.

I found Beauty Pop to be enjoyable. My favorite genre is rom-com and although I can say that Beauty Pop had both of these things in it was a bit skimpy on romance. If you like to laugh and don't enjoy up front romance this manga is for you. I am not saying that the romance is non-existent it just not the main influence. Overall though the story is interesting with likable characters that don't really get on your nerves. Its art work is pretty good and the story is descent. It really lacks in the pacing. It goes from kind of slow to really read more

I'm surprised that this comic isn't among the most popular ones. It's a beautiful storyline and makes me laugh, cry, scream, and worry.
It's about a girl named Kiri who is a very amazing hairstylist but she doesn't want to be in the beginning. She's far from being a Mary Sue because she has her flaws, which are a very limited emotional range, and if you ask Narumi, the main guy, she's not even a girl.
Narumi on the other hand is a gifted hairstylist, nowhere near Kiri's talent, and he plans to be the number one hairstylist in Japan. This boy has a very read more

when I 1st knew about the story from the following summary:
"Although a truly gifted hairstylist, Kiri Koshiba has no interest in using her talent to pursue fame and fortune, unlike the three popular boys in the "Scissors Project" at school. They give showy makeovers to handpicked girls, determined to become the best makeover team in Japan. As much as Kiri tries to shy away from the Scissors Project spotlight, she finds herself responding to beauty's call..."
the part of what interest me most was a gifted hairstylest girl who doesn't have interest of becoming hairstylist and other guys who wanted to be famous.
so I given read more
