This love story follows a young man named Yukiteru who gets caught in a risky love triangle. Yukiteru and his childhood friend Yuno have a history together, but Yukiteru's female friend Rena complicates the relationship. She has strange secrets, and the love triangle may not resolve the way anyone expects.
Let me tell you this was not an easy selection to complete. In both the effort it took to track down the last volumes and the grind of reading through to the end, this was a tough one to do. On with the review...
The melodrama that is the combination of sex and high school life has been done to death. Anime, Manga, Books, TV, and Movies, the entire spectrum of entertainment platforms have covered this genre. But, never has one taken it to such a pretentious, unintelligent, and ridiculous level as featured in "Uwa-Koi".
I'm gonna break this down into the MAL categories featured
above; story, art, character, and enjoyment.
The story is a load of garbage. It exists only to give a confused, horny, teenage boy a reason to have as many sexual encounters as possible. It then finds excuses to have more characters enter the story just for the purpose of more intrigue and sex. Then, when things do reach a *giggity* climax, the writer(s) take a massive cop-out and end this farce in the most aggravating and lazy way possible. This alone makes you feel you've wasted your time.
The art isn't too bad. The character designs are nothing special and each have enough distinguishing features to tell them apart. There are many scenes that just feature gratuitous sex and acres of flesh. There is very little beauty in these sticky fumblings and while they do have some creative censorship, it's nothing more than NC-17 pornography on display 50% of the time.
Ha-ha-ha! "Characters"? That's a laugh! Okay, there's our main characters, a teenage boy who can't seem to control his sexual urges all while complaining about how "wrong" it is what he's doing. The girl he lives with who has loved him since childhood and is a little crazy. And the dark, seductive, mysterious, girl who our MC has a crush on and is a little crazy. Supporting cast is 99% female. But, all the girls in this Manga have serious problems and are only driven by 1 or 2 things; To bang our MC and/or complicate the plot through shady methods. There is not a single likeable character in this entire piece.
This sort of stuff is targeted specifically for those who like angst-ridden erotica. I can identify with the absolute whirlwind of confusion sex causes the teenage mind. The overpowering urges caused by raging hormones, who wouldn't be thrown through a loop? The Manga uses a good analogy, "Playing with fire". It's true. Dangerous and confusing times. But, "Uwa-Koi" disregards the important questions it raises by always ending with the boy and girl having sex. All the banging featured inspired me to bang my head against the wall. I got a few chuckles here and there, but only frustration at the stupidity on display.
This Manga can provide a cheap thrill for those interested in one, but I don't recommend it. Partly due to the monotonous nature of the plot and the ending which had no thought put into it. I'm left with nothing but a chip on my shoulder and a bad mood after putting so much into getting through this sex-romp soap opera. Please, don't waste your time with this. They messed up so bad and then added insult to injury with the ending. God forbid if they ever make this into an Anime... Overall 2/10. Dreadful. Stay away!
As another review here already stated, this is not a good manga at all, I don't have a lot more to add!
The plot is horrible, a 16/17 year old kid that is "dating" his roommate and two timing with her roommate's best friend, seems promising right?
WRONG! The MC is pathetic and turns the story into a frustating read about his problems that actually don't rlly make any sense! If he rlly feels bad about what he's doing why the hell he keeps banging that girl? The author tries to find a lot of ways to just plain stamp sex on the manga which turns
it into a dull story, I can't rlly comment on the final cause I gave up on the 11th chapter but this was just taking the Harem sex path and looking like an hentai!
In my personal opinion this would be very good if it had ZERO sex on it, if the author focused more on the actual feelings of each char it would be an excellent manga! A kinder version of Nozoki Ana since it's highschool and not college!
The art is normal, I don't rlly have any insight on this part, but it's not anything amazing neither is it horrible
The characters are just retarded in a lot of ways, it totally loses the feeling of a seinen, mature, slice of life cause it's very irrealistic!
overall a 2 if u want give it a try but I rlly don't think it even deserves a chance
If we could count the little sins that lead us to a strange situation, on Tamaki Yukiteru's account overflow from his childhood when he accidentally burns down his house. He currently lives with the family of Yuno, her neighbor and childhood friend, who wants him "crazy", but he doesn't sense this kind of "like". But secretly dates Saotome Rena, a friend of both, who recently moved to their High School. It would be great if Yumeno Kaori, classmate, had not discovered this secret relationship at Yuno's eyes, and cause a silent pact with Yukiteru-kun somewhat peculiar. . . And the list of small sins
does not seem to stop there.
So is a fault on genre on the tragedy part - it must be clear and put the label -, so more the yandere part must put on it too, 'cause isn't a simply sex - ecchi -, so harem plot here. If you hope that it could make you have a disappointment. And don't hope any HE.
This seinen is guided into a tragic conclussion, so the sex plot have an important rol on it, also the issues to manage a no sane near relationship since childhood, so many secrets on life, I mean on Yukiteru's weakness, so simplicity and the way he drives his own life and relationships.
And each character main or secondary have their own dilema so issues. The plot go more difficult ahead till ending.
