Sakamichi no Apollo and Piano no Mori has a similarity with growth. Both series' story concentrates a large of amount of time to develop its characters and their growth through experiences with others. These experiences focuses on relationships and their personal interests. Both series also has the theme of music; although they follow different trends related to their plot. Nonetheless, there is a classic feeling for these two titles. The realism is something you have to read to experience it yourself.

Both are humourous stories in wich music (the piano) takes a central place. The main characters are similar as well: a little odd person and a perfectionist. On the other hand, Piano no Mori lacks the romantic element present in Nodame Cantabile.

Both manga are about music and about pianos. They give off similar vibe and some characters are similar - although there are many differences as well. Check them out if you are interested.

They don't have the same topic (one piano/music, the other one go) but the characters and setting are quite similar: - both have a character that has learned playing piano/go from an early age and aims to be the best - both have a main character that learns about his passion from above character - both have a special teacher who guides the main character Both also have quite a bit of humour :)

Both start with spunky elementary kids that don't really have their own dream for the future. That all changes when they meet another kid that excels at some subject (piano in Piano no Mori; Karuta in Chihayafuru) which inspires the main character to adopt this subject and get a dream. Both start when the kids are in elementary and skip to when they are in high school. Chihayafuru is more of a romance and its based on a girl... Piano no Mori on the other hand has an EXTREMELY unique art style (kinda in a bad way) and involves little romance.

Known for their ideas of music, both series follows a well rounded journey about pursuing an art. In this case, it's the art of playing piano and the main characters has a great talent for it. There's a competitive edge when it comes to facing off against rivals as well. Both series crafts drama in a rather realistic way while combining elements of realism and self-awareness.

Piano no Mori and Kono Oto Tomare! has a good sense of realism and story development. We have a noticeable cast of characters with talents. Throughout both series, the characters are distinguished by personalities, skill, and their roles. Both series has a good amount of drama as well that develops between certain characters. Music is also a prominent theme that connects many of the characters together. In addition, both series has a good emphasis on the past as we see how much characters evolve in the present.

The main character in Piano no Mori (PnM) is what made me feel that the two were similar. These two main characters are both geniuses in their respective fields and they continuously strive to become better and better. Team Medical Dragon has a more serious political tone while PnM is lighter and comedic. There really is no other reason but the fact that after reading Team Medical Dragon, I was really reminded of the main character in PnM. But I guarantee that if you love reading about geniuses and you liked one of these, you will definitely like the other!

Piano no Mori and Uchuu Kyoudai are inspirational stories about a main character who follows a dream and tries to make into a reality. Both series has a lot of characterization and a very focusing writing on their development. There is also a lot of relationship dynamics that can be relatable and realistic. Throughout this experience, we can see how much certain characters change and learn from their mistakes. There is also a great amount of focus on background stories with clever transitions and events that influences characters' goals. In general, recommended for anyone interested in a story of inspiration.

Both stories center around a music prodigy. La Corda focuses on a violinist, where as Piano no Mori focuses on a pianist. People are drawn to the prodigies not because of their knack for copying any piece they've heard, but because their love for music can be heard through their unique style of interpretation. The stories follow the young prodigies as they evolve and captivate their audiences.

Beck and Piano no Mori are known for its music themes and strong emphasis on characterization. The main male protagonist practices music and becomes well-known for their abilities. As the story progresses, we see how much their role influences others. There's also a good emphasis on character relationships that establishes important friendship and rivalries. Both series are also known for its realism with their storytelling. Beck also has bits of romance while Piano no Mori develops strong friendship relationships that connects the past and present of certain characters. Recommended for anyone interested in a well-developed story with colorful characters and themes.

Music plays a key role in developing the characters for both series. But even so, we also see the various character relationships that evolves as their story progresses. Piano no Mori and Sayonara Piano Sonata explores the experiences of youth for main characters who follows a dream. At its core, character growth becomes an important aspect. There is also a fine degree of realism in both series relating to every day life experiences as well.
