It's been 2000 years since the rebellion lead by the Dark Knight Sparda, a demon who turned to the side of good. The gateway to the Underworld has been sealed and humans are now safe from an invasion of the demon world.

Dante, Sparda's son, makes a living by eradicating demons. His first job is to find and bring back a girl named Alice. But what awaits him when he storms the inn where Alice is being held? And who is this man walking around town who has the same face as Dante?

Twin brothers born of the Dark Knight Sparda and the human woman he loved are now grown men, but each walks a very different path in life. What is Dante's twin, Vergil's, goal? The violent story of two fated brothers continues...

This manga takes place a year before the events of Devil May Cry 3 the video game. Which confused me when I learned that, since Vergil is doing the same thing he was doing in game and the second volume ends on a specific scene right from the video game.

ah well, you shouldn't always expect PERFECT continuity when it comes to other forms of media attached to a franchise.

Keep in mind, this review is based off the official Tokyo pop translation. NOT the raw translation you can find on the Devil's Lair website.

So translation isn't really good...

Honestly, this review is painful to write. DMC3 is my favorite game, that one game that never gets boring no matter how many times I play it. So the idea of manga that acts as a prequel to the game was exciting, to say the least.
As you can see I'd say it was fine, a nice average 6/10 manga.

I guess the best thing about it is art, which does say a lot about the quality of the rest of the manga. It's not bad, I like how some of it was drawn; but there are scenes I just found bland, lifeless. More importantly, some read more

Man! DMC Rocks!

The art in its incredable! I love the way everything is drawn! The Story...obviously differs to the game but still is fantastic! And the Characters are to die for!

I mean, Dante and his cocky masquerade! And Vergil with his silent but deadly personality...

Its Lovely! xDD

But however, as critic is always required...I don't like the fact that DMC is in Wonderland...-____- Meh.

I loved ALice in wonderland as a kid. It made me smile! But after the DMC manga...I can't imagine the Mad Hatter the same ever again. O.o

I definately recommend this to anyone though! xDD It was a amazing manga!
