Pain. Just so much pain. I put off the anime for so long because I didn't like the male protagonist at first since he was such an asshole and seeing Fubata chase him was really frustrating. However, after binge reading the manga, my perspective really changed about Kou. Even although I hated him in the anime and most of the manga, late on he really showed a drastic change of character development. I wish the transition was smoother though. I also thought how the romance that connected Kou backstory was kinda off where it was out of nowhere, but I wouldn't look too deep into ...

Ao Haru Ride Manga Review
By: Sakisaka Io
Dated: January 6, 2020

Plot:

The first time I've read this manga; I was really not into it. The MC annoys me; the story irritates me. But reading it a second time, I came to love it. It's funny how I didn't like it the first time. The story is about a girl named Futaba who loves Kou since her younger days. Due to circumstances, she was left alone not taking action to that feeling. After fate had made a play on them, Kou returned to the same school at her, however with a very different personality as what she knew ...

This is one of the prettiest things I have ever read. The art style is very beautiful. I fell in love with all the characters even the secondary ones and this is actually special for a shoujo manga. The way the story goes makes you very excited to know what would happen and you kinda root for all the characters 😂. It's not your typical love triangle and so... I mean that even this part was good. I loved how they made kou heal from his problems gradually not instantly because it's how this would go in real life. I will definitely read this manga ...

Ao haru ride is the story about a girl who was too cute and as such was ostracized in middle school. This also resulted in her unable to confess to her crush as well. So she changes her image to be more unattractive. So she can more easily get with the girls. But she meets the boy she was in love with back in highschool. Now the story unravels as she decides to become more herself and possibly reignite a love that was never ignited in the first place.

The series is better and underwhelming than i expected. It doesn't have anything that grabs your attention ...

Ao Haru Ride is the perfect mix of drama, romance and friendship. Every chapter is fast paced and exciting, which is probably why I finished reading it so quickly. The leads have extremely great chemistry and you can see perfectly the reason why the two love each other.

Individual characters were also great. Each has unique personality with lots of layers on them and all act and react naturally. The friendship and all the interactions doesn't feel forced.

I see myself relating to some of the characters and who knows you might be able to relate as well?

Overall, this is a manga that I won't get tired ...

Ao Haru Ride is a story that's fine ... but not more than that. The series does not go beyond, even having the opportunity to do so. I think that much of what you get to enjoy with the series depends on what you connect with the characters, which are well achieved or at least more than characters many other mngas of the genre, in my case I did not connect at all with them that in part is the deep stress that the protagonist caused me, but ignoring that fact the series triumphs with its secondary characters making the series enjoyable.

Ao Haru Ride or also known as Blue Spring Ride in English is a great story indeed. The idea of me reading this manga is a bold evident itself eh? It always amazes me the way the author think. I just love how humor, lovestory (which is actually what this is all about), friendship, sorrow, and even family blended in this single manga. Unlike other books, the blending of this manga is not confusing at all. I guess I have to thank the sketches eh? I don’t remember reading a story magazine before so the feeling I had while reading this manga is really ...

lets startup

The story was good with many cliche shoujo moments, the MCs killed the story for me in this case, Futaba Yoshioka the main Character said some words something along the lines of she'll never kiss someone without loving them, this was around the 12th episode of the anime for anime watchers, well (Spoilers) guess what she does a few chapters later, After a misunderstanding she sees Kou Mabuchi with his ex-girlfriend, guess what happens, Touma Kikuchi happens, the story goes downhill from that moment onward and only tries to climb-up again but it fails to do so in my opinion.

the art was ...

I have to admit Ao Haru Ride was a bit of a tough read for me.

It's not exactly your typical shougo manga but as always there are a few cliches throughout the story. I actually found the progression of the friendships between the characters rather refreshing and enjoyed seeing them develop in a natural manner along with the romance of the story rather than them being brushed to the side or developed halfheartedly.

I have to warn any potential readers that there is a fair bit of unnecessary that occurs that could have been avoided with a simple explanation, hence my earlier comment on ...

As I am a very visual person the art style pulled me into this one. The plot was very good at the beginning, but then it somehow got all predictable. I know that most shojo mangas are the same 10 stories, but still. I wanted the story to be as shiny as the artwork itself.

I waited for every new chapter until it was finished and I did enjoy the cheesiness of it. There were moments when even I was invested in the developments, but those were small moments in comparison to the whole story. Last chapters were somewhat disappointing, I wanted something more. ...

Io Sakisaka can take the most basic romance plotlines and make them so powerful as a manga. This is shown in Ao Haru Ride, where the two main characters fall in love when they're younger, separate, and find each other again later in life. What I really appreciated was the unfolding of Kou's sort of backstory and how the two main characters heal together over time, as opposed to a sudden rekindle of romance. Along with its brilliant art, Ao Haru Ride really shows how human the two are when they realize they can't just fall in love and how they fight obstacles throughout the ...

This is a must read if you're a fan of the shoujo genre, so don't be hesitant if you're debating whether or not to read this.

Storyline:
The anime finishes just before the (very) intense feels begin - I was practically unable to keep myself from jumping out of my seat and dancing around like a lunatic. I really enjoyed this part (chapters 13-the middle).
The middle got complicated and bit messy, but I suppose it made the ending more meaningful? (like a typical convention of the romance genre)

Art:
There are so much sincerity and emotions conveyed in the eyes of these characters at many critical times, the mangaka ...

This very well could be someone's cup of tea however I personally find it to be bland. I kind of expected that going in since I read Love Me, Love Me Not and came out of that one feeling pretty average about the whole experience. Io Sakisaka and I just don't mix well. But if you enjoy more sweet, heart-warming high school romances that tend to be vanilla then more power to you! This will probably be a great fit.

With the characters: Kou is all right, it delves into his battle with grief which I thought was important. He just wasn't my favorite. Futaba ...

Ao Haru Ride has been a heck of an emotional rollercoaster to me. I think the background of this animanga does give it that perfect 👌shoujo touch to it.

But, here goes the detailed review.

Here's what I loved about the manga. No. 1, Kou. I loved Kou a lot and his entire family, his brother, his father, even his late mother. I felt like Kou's trauma held back Kou a lot previously, but I really loved how strong he felt after he overcame it. No. 2, Kominato. Man, this guy is absolutely precious. I love his personality and the character he portrays. He's quite childish, but ...

TL;DR - A basic, vanilla romance that doesn't overstay its welcome 8/10

Is this story cliché? Yes. Is it vanilla? Absolutely. Does that mean it can't be good? Not at all.

Ao Haru Ride is a great romance manga for many reasons, but the top reason is pacing for me. The story has such a natural progression throughout and I never felt like it dragged or was moving too fast. And it ended at the right time, not dragging the story longer than it needed to. I really enjoyed it.

There is a part with a love triangle that felt somewhat forced for the sake of having problems. ...

When I watched the Anime I say ¡Wow, I love this!
I read all the manga and ... ¡I loved it!
But...being honest... It's nothing from the other world. It's a tipical shoujo, but this shoujo have a lot of tens and nines. That's overstating. Very very typical.
If you read 'Orange' you will put one 7 or 6 to this manga
I love the art of this sensei. And you probably get attached with the charachters.
The story... Meh... I read a lot of mangas and this story is sooooo typical.
I enjoyed this manga a lot, a few months ago this manga was one of my favorites, ...

After the anime got me hooked (watch it first) I had to read the the manga to know what will happen. Boy, was this a ride!
I didn't expect this manga to hit this gard tbh. I'm a grown woman now and just wanted some heart warming shojo. This manga made me feel a storm of different emotions. Soulcrushing , sometimes to the point where I was afraid to turn the page.
Yes, it dies have shojo tropes but it somehow felt realistic for the character to behave this way - although it made me angry. But that's how people are sometimes.
The little flashbacks to ...

I know this manga is like the Vanilla flavour of ice creams. Like this is the classic of the Shoujo genre. But I swear, it is damn worth it !!

Mhm, there are so many fucking drama and the characters are so damn complex. Like the main boy (Kou) is annoying af, and the storyline is honestly super frustrating especially with the introduction of the second lead or the side characters. At the point where you start to question yourself. Despite this, there are some decent character development and a few scenes where your jaw just hangs, admiring the cute, wholesome moment.
The ending was ...

i red the manga because of the part of the season 2, it made me actually curious abt the love triangle, but it turns out completely unforgivable, the part were touma and futaba is dating giving me such a hard felt emotion because of how touma endure his love for kou, and suddenly he just keeps avoiding it until futaba breaked up with him. I know that they will end together (kou and futaba) but you didn't know how strong touma's love for futaba like it made me feel that i hope futaba will choose touma at the end buuuuut it was in a complete ...

Romance is one of my favorite genres and I have recently started reading the manga of those animes that I first saw as a teenager in order to remember their stories and be able to write a review years after having gained experience within the world of manga and anime. Ao Haru Ride was one of the first animes I watched so I thought it would be a good idea to start with this one.

Story(7/10): The story has a good start introducing the main characters, showing how they met and the current state they are in. Later they introduce the different secondary characters, who are ...
