Review for Serial Experiments Lain
English is not a native language and at the time of writing my review I did not intend to translate it well, even so I hope that it is minimally understood and for third world speakers who speak Spanish like me they have the original version in Spanish at the end of the text.

Serial Experiments Lain is a special series, even among those of its genre since the experience
...
does not end once you complete the series, but this is complemented by a one-shot manga, a game for Play Station 1 and most importantly the interpretations that the spectators give to this one, the series invites you from the first moment to theorize and investigate on the extremely varied themes that it covers.
Referring to the latter, the series deals with various topics to a greater or lesser extent throughout it, among which we find the concept of collective consciousness proper to the areas of psychoanalysis (by Carl Jung) and also of sociology (by Émile Durkheim), mental illnesses, as it also treats reality and the "I" from an existentialist approach, passing through various authors belonging to the branch, but what sustains all this is its theme on technology and communication, how these affect us and They are related to us in contemporary society, this is something to highlight of the series since for an era in which the internet was just beginning to appear, it has an understanding of it and what will be quite advanced for its time.
The story is about how they will have read in the synopsis about Lain Iwakura, a 14-year-old withdrawn and not very sociable student, she is not very close to her family, although she is fond of them, they are rarely seen talking, especially the mother who presents an extremely cold. Various surreal events will attract Lain to the network where she will rethink her existence while discovering various organizations that are interested in her for some reason.
The artistic resources of the series are great, he uses the visual narrative in an exemplary way using his unconventional animation to tell us what is not mentioned in his dialogues, he plays very well with it, making us interpret his surreal scenes and baffling close-ups.
The soundtrack of the series is perfect for this one, since the opening the series takes us its terrain, the sound effects are very well occupied to develop scenes that could well be part of a psychological horror movie.
The design of the characters is quite good, all the characters fulfill their role well in the series but compared to the protagonist they are not as well developed.
The series is enjoyed quite especially by half of it. Although it can be a little slow to watch and not recommended for marathons, but rather to watch it calmly and think about what the hell you just saw and hopefully understand it.
To finish, I recommend having seen other series of this style before, such as Evangelion, Madoka, Girls Last Tour or Ghost In The Shell, which deal with themes similar to those of Lain, so you will feel more comfortable with the language used and the discourse that deals with narrate the series.

--------------------------------------------English-------------------------------------------------- Dead Dead Demon's Dededededetruction is probably the work that Inio Asano has enjoyed the most, among all that he has done to date, while in my opinion it is the most complete work of Asano and curiously also the most different compared to the rest of his sleeves, a refreshing change that was already necessary. Although in parallel with "A Girl on the shore" or "Oyasumi Pun Pun" his ... Jul 31, 2019

Ao Haru Ride is a story that's fine ... but not more than that. The series does not go beyond, even having the opportunity to do so. I think that much of what you get to enjoy with the series depends on what you connect with the characters, which are well achieved or at least more than characters many other mngas of the genre, in my case I did not connect at all with them that in part is the deep stress that the protagonist caused me, but ignoring that fact the series triumphs with its secondary characters making the series enjoyable.
