Good grief, a one shot that should’ve stayed a one-shot. This manga perfectly encompasses what a one-shot adaptation should not do: ignore every aspect of world-building and plot that a normal manga would have. To say the least, I’m not a fan of this manga because everything is left open-ended, especially with all the key details in character or motives.
There are not many explanations in this manga, so there’s not a chance for the reader to get emotionally invested in the main characters’ relationship, nor is there much catharsis at the end of the chapters. To summarize the chapters, they follow a simple plot

This has got to be my favorite ongoing Japanese romcom manga. It is very charming and is honestly everything that I have ever wanted from a romcom. However, I would like to preface with some potential cons:
1. Lack of depth. To be honest, 7 chapters in, we barely know what is even going in the world. Like, we have a demon lord who isn't very demon lord-y, but why??? So if you are gonna be annoyed by these kinds of things, maybe this isn't for you. But personally, I could care less. 2. No drama. Maybe in the future there will be, but for now it's ... May 19, 2024
I randomly saw this series gaining a lot of traction with sporadic updates, so here I am.
The story of the bad bad demon lord teaming with the MC hero is something we see now and then. This series though, not only excels in that field but stands out. There is nothing particularly scary or flawed here, it's just a girl (who happens to be the demon lord) who is in love with the hero. A Romeo and Juliet setup but the feelings are coming from the girl than the guy. It's a completely original series, rather, it's friendly and cute. Nothing X or R-rated really, just interactions ... |
