Synopsis

The best hitman of the underworld, Owaru Endou, leads a dark and secretive life, constantly bathing in the blood of his targets. However, his life takes a brighter turn when he becomes a fan of Kaori "Kaorin" Minaboshi, an underground idol from Rosaceae whose concerts Owaru always attends.

Feeling that his hands and dirty money are too stained to support Kaorin, Owaru decides to retire from his profession to earn a "clean" income and make himself worthy of his beloved icon. Unfortunately for him, old habits die hard; to protect what he holds dear, Owaru must return to his roots once more.

This manga has the aura of a mainstream comedy manga, and if you’re reading this, then you’re here before its popularity skyrockets — seriously, this is some good, fun stuff that capitalizes on the trope of mostly emotionless mcs finding solace.

I’ll state the massive positive regarding the story: it’s simple but wholesome. The plot isn’t too complicated, though it tries to be at times, making the comedy very dumbed down in a good way.

The mc and fmc also aren’t too dumb, and their interactions are equally hilarious and wholesome at the same time, which is hard to accomplish.

It was honestly pretty good. I like the characters quite a lot even if they seem a bit stereotypical. 75% of the story is literally just a retelling of John Wick while the 25% focuses on the FMC and MC's relationship. I'm thankful I got here before it blew up (chapter 8), and hopefully it does, because not a single chapter so far has been bad. The art is really good too, with some of the action being "holy fuck, it did not have to go this hard." It has a nice dark undertone which fits the theme well.

I believe this is the first manga by far to perfectly incorporate cut-throat Hit Man mechanics with the common Japanese Idol journey. You got a japanese John Wick who has decided to leave the blood stained world of Hit Men to pursue an innocent life. Naturally with a twist, to support his favorite Idol who functioned as the light source in his prior life covered in darkness and blood.

It's worth reading to keep up with as an original story which barely relies on tropes. Lots of room for a long term story with each chapter epic enough to not feel tiring or boring.
