An unconventional but moving story that takes full advantage of POV shifts, creating a rich array of emotions every time there's a switch in narrator. Moving prose, gripping emotions, and a bittersweet drama that will tug at heartstrings.

I'd call this more of a drama than a romance. While everything is tied together by love, it's almost entirely unrequited, and you don't get the standard 'declaration of love -> pursuit -> getting together -> resolution' structure. If you go in expecting a love story with a clear resolution, you might find yourself unsatisfied at the ending. But if you go into this purely to drink in ... the prose and see the tangled web these characters tangle themselves into, you're in for a real treat.

I like this story because it's complicated, not clear-cut, and because the author perfectly wrings out every drop of emotion through each character's point of view. The narrative tools used in this are fantastic, the writing is just top notch. I wouldn't quite say it's a tear jerker, but it crushes your heart and fills you with the crushing loss of control they all feel.

This is a mature, artistic, well written story that I highly recommend as a character study rather than a romance or a piece of pornography.
