Synopsis

Lights, camera, Boys' Love!

Honjirou is a rookie actor trying his best to land a breakout role, but he fears that his weight stands in the way of his dreams. One day, he's surprised by fan mail full of sweets. The package came from Konnosuke, a local pastry chef–Honjirou's first major fan! As Konnosuke supports Honjirou's work and gives him new confidence to face the stage, will their relationship grow beyond just aspiring star and fanboy?

This is a lovely manga with very wholesome vibes and adorable characters. The first volume tells the story of the two characters meeting each other, and the way they connect through their mutual admiration of each other's craft (baking and art). They both have some insecurities, which are shown in a nuanced and realistic way I enjoyed, and end up finding solace in each other's support. I really liked how suitably mature the characters are (they are all young adults) in the way they act and react to things going on in their lives and the lives of others around them. It's a very sweet (pun intended), wholesome and healthy slice of life manga. Slow-paced, in a very good way. I'm not always a fan of slow-pace when some storylines could be resolved sooner, but for this I wouldn't mind if there'll be 10 volumes of just their life without anything happening much. For real.

The body-positivity is amazing and I hope there are gonna be more mangas/animes like this. There are some remarks about him being chubby and he does think of starting a diet, but nothing that extends over more than 3 pages and the other characters always ends with him ...
