Compared to many vampire stories, I found this one to be relatively light and an easy read.
I like its take on "vampirism" in that our MC isn't a full-fledged vampire nor is he caught up in any vampire/human politics. All he has are more pointy teeth than normal and a story from his father about some distant ancestor having been a vampire. One night, while drinking with a friend, he ends up bringing up this heritage that his father told him about. The friend, who loves occult things, is very excited about this and asks him to bite him.
