Seeing as I'm the first(only) person to review this manga sequel here in over half a decade... surely all those shills from the 1st installment loved it right? They weren't lying right? It's actually really good right!?!?!
Fuan no Tane, The Anticipation(Seeds) of Anticipating(Anxiety), a fitting title to convey that nothing happens.
I finished the 8 volumes (165 chs) currently available (more than double the page count of both prequels put together), it's still ongoing, but I'm not going to bother. As far as I'm concerned I've finished this trash. I've read nearly 300 chs/stories totaling nearly 950 pages to average ~3 pages per story for the
...
entire series. It took me well over a month to read this painfully boring, repetitive filler. I'm done.
Not a single thing has improved (nor changed at all) in over 20 years from start to finish of this series (now that's scary).
So once again, another 100+ repetitive, painfully boring few page non-stories of: scene setting irrelevant filler panels introducing non-characters. Then, What if a ghost? OooOoh. The end. Repeat.
This sequel is entirely redundant. Almost every story(entire chapter) in it has already been done to death by the prior installments of the series' chapters: What if shadows are ghosts oOoOoOh?x50 What if a ghost face pops out oOoOoOh?x50 What if ghosts?x300. Genuinely pointless. Remember how chapter 100 of the prequel was the notion of that tradition of telling 100 scary stories to summon ghosts? What if, and hear me out, what if we do that exact same thing again for chapter 100 of this? Damn that's good wrighting. Ghost face.
The art is low effort garbage (especially the dumb ghost faces) that's just silly if anything at all and almost never scary.
The chapter titles of each grouping of stories are still arbitrary nothings with no relevance to the randomly ordered stories. One of the chapter titles is literally Chapter of Story/Tale. No way? Stories?! You're telling me there gon' be stories in this chaptah?! One of the Chapters is called Chapter of Night and barely even half of the stories in it have even the vaguest association to night by taking place at night for a portion of it.
The mangaka has again tried doing a few more recurring characters (of redundantly repetitive stories that go nowhere), but rather than just having each one's stories in one chapter as a longform story, each is deliberately not grouped together so as to be as pointlessly disjointed as possible (dragging it out to minimize anyone's ability to care about the noncharacters' nonstories).
This is either a cashgrab shitpost of a mangaka who STILL couldn't be assed to put in any effort or, even scarier, the possibility that this mangaka is actually doing the best they can with this garbage (given that the mangaka here takes the opportunity to insert himself to once again reveal to his readers the answers to the questions of whether or not he can see ghosts and whether or not he is scared of what he draws despite that he has already answered both exact questions in the prior installments in which he admits to being a coward who can't handle horror, it may just be that this nonstory horror for babies is the most this moron mangaka is capable of) (He does these fake ass meta publicity stunt cashgrabs in lieu of an ending in every manga just as he did in PTSD Radio). It is genuinely scary how poorly made this manga is and how much people shill/glaze the series.
1/10 (where 5/10 is average)
