[Spoiler Free] If you reading this title then you should already be familiar with the classic fantasy genre where the mc comes from a hard background and grows to become something better. There's a lot of variation on the theme but often what's overlooked is getting the core ingredients right. "Boy Having Useless Skill Mapping" isn't revolutionary but it is (so far) a satisfying adventure that hits the right notes.
Whether it's being transported to a new world, good or evil, harem or otherwise.. what's really important is the characters are interesting with logical motivations, the world sufficiently 'fantasy', the comedy well-balanced and the plot progression
...
reasonable without becoming too convoluted.
Note's adventures start off pretty quickly and we're given the basic introduction to his situation and the world. Things quickly escalate and a fairly unambiguous declaration of the character motivations is established. And after 15 chapters we've explored a bit more of the history and wider relationships. So far so good.
Whilst the series is in the somewhat lighter category (it doesn’t get too heavy) the appeal that really stands out is that whilst Note is weak he's not an idiot and neither are the supporting characters. This in itself is good reason to enjoy the series. The MC is not some evil revenge-filled demon nor is he secretly OP and hiding it. He genuinely wants to work hard and doesn't hold back in taking the opportunities presented to him. Ultimately, he's a relatable character, one which you can't help but cheer on.
