Kingdom and Shut Hell depicts a setting where there is war and conflicts. Many of its characters are warriors with fighting skills that are shown on the battlefield. Among these characters include a young man with a strong ambition. Both series depicts violence that shows the reality of a warrior. There is also themes of revenge in both series with historical fiction setting.

Both are untraditional stories that goes way beyond the typical boundaries of their genres. Both are about reincarnation and connecting to the past, though Shut Hell takes place in the past and Bokura no Kiseki takes place in the present.

A historical manga, about a fierce legendary fighter together with a timid but skilled youngling, and a clash between cultures, where you get to peek into a past so richly described that you feel the author was there. Oh and you get sucked into them and can hardly stop until you've run out of chapters to read. Sounds pretty much like Shut Hell and Golden Kamuy.

Very similar artstyle, likely Shut Hell directly inspired the art in Kasane.

Both deuteragonists of Otoyomegatari and Shut Hell have very similar personalities. Karluk Eihon and Yurul are really shy at the beggining of the story but they become less shy and more brave as them mature while helping the female lead, that they maintain a very intimate connection with. But I still think that Karluk Eihon of Otoyomegatari is more childlike and calm than Yurul of Shut Hell that is a cunning Mongol prince.

Drifters and Shut Hell are adventurous series with very clever set of ideas. The main male protagonist gets involved in worlds that truly tests the limits of their persona and abilities. Throughout the story, they develop relationships with a variety of characters while facing off against unnatural obstacles. There are historical content present in both series as well that includes some settings. In addition, there is themes of reincarnation although depicted differently according to their premise.

A young guy finds out he is the re-incarnation of some dangerous woman from the past, who lived in a time of war. Sengoku is a shoujo, Shut is a seinen, and pretty mature.

Both have a boy who was a girl in his previous life as the main character and he starts go back to his previous life from time to time after he meets the second main character who is a girl who was a boy in her previous life. The two of them knew each other in the previous life. The stories are really different although.

Breserk has, at one point, use of mughal empire influenced antagonist in the series, while shut hell has the mongols as a recurring enemy.

Shoukoku no Altair and Shut Hell takes place in fictional wars where wars breaks out and powers clash for dominance. Both series adapts a resourceful amount of fantasy elements. The war story also consists of realism with mechanics that takes place in their worlds. The main protagonist also develops a strategic mind as they fight against obstacles in their way. Recommended for fans interested in an adventurous war story.
