Synopsis

Flum Apricot was never meant to be a hero. Despite zero stats across the board and a power she can't even use, she somehow finds herself included in a party of heroes. But Flum's life hits rock bottom when the party's renowned sage, Jean Inteige, decides that the useless girl is dead weight, and arranges to have her sold into slavery. Tossed to monsters to be feasted upon for her master's entertainment, Flum makes the desperate choice to reach for a cursed weapon... and something new awakens within her. A grimdark tale about one woman's blood-soaked quest to reclaim her life!

"Omae Gotoki ga Maou ni Kateru to Omouna" to Yuusha Party wo Tsuihou sareta node, Outo de Kimama ni Kurashitai began as a web novel on Shousetsuka ni Narou on January 8, 2018 and completed with 141 web chapters on November 7, 2018. Micro Magazine-sha has released a revised and illustrated version of the series since July 30, 2018 under its GC Novels label.

The series has been published digitally in English as Roll Over and Die: I Will Fight for an Ordinary Life with My Love and Cursed Sword! by Seven Seas Entertainment since September 3, 2020, and in print since October 27, 2020.

A word of caution: if you're are considering reading this series you should know this gets pretty dark.
Now for the review.
First off, even tho this series is extremely dark, it is a surprisingly good read. Secondly, this series takes a dark approach to the cliche fantasy Light Novel expressly the "I got kicked out of the heroes party" trope. Next is, this series did not look kindly upon the adventurers guild, but instead the corruption going on there, and not giving it the normal welcoming atmosphere that is highlighted in many series give it. I love how dark this series is! Initially wanted to read it for the GL (it’s definitely more of a slow burn but it’s pretty well done) but stayed for the gory and action packed fights. The world and characters are really nicely fleshed out. I also really enjoyed the way the author manages to describe extremely gruesome scenes in a way that paints a perfectly disgusting picture. In terms of the story itself, so far it’s a little tropey (getting kicked out of the hero’s party, with most of the characters in said party just being assholes and the main character having a unique ...
