Holy shit, this is probably one of the most overrated things I have read in a long time. I hope this is one of those things that I couldn't get because after 20 chapters or so this is probably one of the most boring mangas in terms of story and character writing I have read. I cannot believe I was foolish enough to manage to read through it expecting something good at the end.

The story loses its initial hook very quickly when you realise any fucking random thing is possible with the author's convenience, it does not even have a basic consistent power scaling system ...

If you are planning on reading this manga and have read any other shonen manga before, don't. It isn't worth your time. This manga isn't really bad, but it's not good either. I went into it with high hopes and was hyped to read it, but was wildly disappointed. I kept reading, hoping that it would get better. Other people must be seeing something I'm not with this manga. The only redeeming factor is the art, and even then there is WAY too much fanservice for 0 reasons. Character designs are also pretty cool if I'm being honest. Other than that, don't waste your time ...

Hell's paradise review:

It's a cliché power fantasy that feels like it should be the final arc of any other manga.

Setting:

The manga is set almost entirely on an island called Paradise. (Spoiler-ish about the design of the island) The island is full of religious body horror monsters with some being quite creative. But the island itself is quite boring besides that which lives on it. The only standout areas in this entire claustrophobic area the manga takes place in is the Palace.
