This manga is quite unique I'd say



On the early chapters it got a really heavy atmosphere
Compared to most tragedy manga that I have read I felt the most on this one
The author captures the atmosphere of the situation perfectly/almost perfectly which took my attention

I find this like a roller coaster, even though it is only 32 chapters/4 volume.
The ending isn't the best nor is it bad. I find the ending acceptable but its not that good. I personally liked how it ended (no hang cliff).

This manga is a unique one for me since I havent read one that touches on the ideas and points that this one does. In that regard I think this manga is quite good. However as a general manga that I read, it was mediocre to say the most.

Like I mentioned, the story is a unique one and had a lot of potential with what it set up in the first 3 chapters. With that said, I think what the manga did do was very lackluster and didnt use its potential at all. While I wont say it stayed safe with its plot, I can ... say that it didnt bring much to the table outside of exactly what you would expect. While it did provide one major plot twist which did change the story, it felt way too forced and is also riddled with cliches in a sense.

The characters in this manga are the worst part of it in my opinion. The main two characters have their backstory and thoughts explained since they are the protagonists, every other character that was introduced as being somewhat major to the plot didnt have as much development so it made them seem more like side characters than anything. While characters having flaws is acceptable since no one can make a perfect character, the ones in this story were too annoying in a sense. They were all there for one point and almost no other reason. Some of their actions made no sense and without some the story wouldn't have been any different. Even the protagonists seem too single minded and without purpose. The female protagonist especially seemed completely like a plot point and outside of that was completely useless.

With all that said, I can't be too harsh on the series since was only 4 volumes or 32 chapters long which is quite short. It would be almost impossible to fit everything I would have wanted into that short of a page count. And besides I can say that the manga was quite enjoyable regardless of its flaws. Sure at times it was frustrating to see how the story develops or how the characters act but other than that it is a manga that tackles a topic that while I cant relate to I'm sure there are some people out there who can. So maybe for them it would be a more enjoyable experience

Oh my, this is for sure one of the worst manga I've ever read. The author clearly had in mind making an uncomfortable series, and he accomplished that, but only that.

There was only one aspect of this manga that wasn't utterly garbage, and that was the art. But don't get me wrong, it isn't great by any stretch of the imagination, it's just that everything around it was so appalling that it seems better in contrast. This is a clear example that not everything that you write should be published.

The more I read the clearer it appeared to me, the author didn't want to make ... a story. I refuse to believe that this is truly him doing his best to pass any kind of message or meaning. Countless stories try to make the reader uncomfortable during the narrative, but for it to work on any level you have to at least feel something reading it, but the author didn't even try to make the characters convincing.

In the first chapters, the author is just dropping as many mind-boggling decisions and characters as possible. The lines and actions are so far-fetched from reality that after the third chapter is hard to feel anything reading it. The first chapter left so much potential just for the rest of the chapters to be this pitiful.

This manga really gave off a bad feeling. Throughout the entire manga, it seemed like frustration covered my mind.

Firstly, the main character Takashi, he is a loser and pathetic guy. Why could he just because of an outsider, yes, that was Sasaki, because of her he could push all his relatives, family, and even his best friend into misery. like those? they cried a lot, so much that he still said that it was worth sacrificing for her, Sasaki. So what about his family? Is he crazy or just a S.I.M.P guy?

secondly, the female character, Sasaki, I know her is the victim but can't she ... see that she is wrong? I know how many people fell into fear, depression, injustice, and tears just because of what she did. Why not confess everything? Is she also a victim? Why let Takashi and his family bear the brunt of all the injustice suffered for so many years? If she hadn't done that, life would have been better and Takashi and his family and friends he wouldn't have to endure years of trauma.

Third, as the eldest sister in the family, I really cannot forgive my younger brother if he does something for a girl, causing the family to suffer all the trouble, even having to drop out of school. I would really hate him and not be like the older sister character in the story. The sister character is so wrong.

Finally, when reading the story, I really wanted to jump in and slap and hit the main character. Besides, the one I want to k*** the most is Sasaki.

A heartfelt story but the plot can be stupid at some times. This is overall a good story with an amazing moral but it feels like some characters were wasted and there could have been better development.

If you liked "The Tragic Story of Yuu Ishigami" then I definitely recommend this. A lot of people don't actually understand the story and how deep it is. It is almost impossible to relate to the MC.

There's a huge psychological component to this and I don't recommend it to people who are in for a "good plot" or "character development." This story is meant to attack the ... problem in society and takes a look at crimes in a different perspective. Personally, I got quite furious around the middle of the story but I promise it gets better!

In short, it is a really f*cked up story but the stupid actions of the characters never made more sense even though I hated what they did. Therefore I gave the characters a 10/10 because even the char development was surprisingly good.

The story including the many plot twists, were so over dramatised that sometimes it just got ridiculous and even though you personally get involved by getting angry on the different characters for what they are doing, you just stop caring at some point (for me ch 7) because the plot twists and drama just become worser and worse.

The ending though was surprinsigly good for ... all the needless drama that went on before.

I've read a few darker mangas, but this one is the most unique and (to an extent) the most realistic.

The story has good pacing and does a good job of making most of the characters flushed out. The final twist was somewhat unexpected, but also made enough sense that it didn't feel out of place; a relatively hard thing to perfect when telling a story. The ending was also an average bittersweet one.

The art was somewhat basic, with the exception of a few scenes having some more detail. However, considering the genre I was reading, it was something that I expected.

Most of the characters were ... well written. The author did a great job at handling their placement, thoughts, and emotion in the story. I would only consider two characters to be sub-par, characters with somewhat poorly written motivates and are only there to cause problems.

Even with the small number of problems, I really enjoyed reading this. I think it was written well, and did a great job of handling heavy topics like murder and rape. The ending was somewhat average, but I get the sense that it was intentional. It wasn't meant to be anything grand or minuscule, just average.

"Boku no Namae wa 'Shounen A'," or as I like to call it, "My Name is 'Boy A,' and I'm Here to Confuse You," serves as a prime example of what happens when you take a compelling premise, promising characters, and then decide, "You know what? Let's just see how convoluted we can make this."

At first glance, you're drawn in by the intrigue, the mystery, the potential for a deep dive into the psyche of our protagonist, "Boy A." But as you progress, you start to wonder if maybe the plot took a wrong turn somewhere and is now hopelessly lost, asking for directions from ... passersby who are just as confused as it is.

The story seems to meander like a river, except this river is in no rush to reach the sea. Instead, it prefers to loop back on itself, creating whirlpools of plotlines that suck you in and, instead of providing resolution, leave you swirling in the murky waters of "What on earth is happening?" And let's talk about those plot twists—they're like being promised a surprise party, only to find out the surprise is that there's no party, just a bewildering array of disconnected events that leave you scratching your head.

Character development appears to have been approached with a strategy akin to throwing darts at a board of personality traits, hoping they land on something that makes sense. Our dear "Shounen A" navigates through the story with the depth of a puddle in the Sahara, occasionally showing glimpses of becoming the ocean you hoped for, but never quite getting there.

Don't get me wrong; I wanted to like "Boku no Namae wa 'Shounen A'". There's something to be said about its attempt to tackle themes of identity, guilt, and redemption. But the execution feels like someone trying to piece together a puzzle in the dark. You appreciate the effort, but you really wish they'd just turn on a light.

In essence, "Boku no Namae wa 'Shounen A'" is like a rollercoaster designed by a committee that couldn't decide whether they were building a thrill ride or a scenic railway. You strap in, excited for the adventure, only to find yourself on a somewhat bumpy, largely confusing journey that leaves you slightly queasy and not entirely sure what just happened. But hey, at least the cover art was nice, right?

Every chapter I read, I sat there thinking that the mc would change or realize the severity of his mistakes. Did he do that? No, in fact, when he was given an opportunity to redeem himself, he threw that chance away. I'm sure you're probably wondering what drove the mc to throw away the chance given. The reason was simple: He had a crush on a girl.

The only good part about this manga was the art. Everything else was trash. The main character? A big simp who made his family miserable. The Story? A poorly written piece of work that relied solely on shock ... factor. This manga deserves a new name, the simp of simps.
