Amanchu! is Amano Kozue's newest manga after the Aria series, so any Aria fan would be thrilled/enraptured to read the next series this fantastic mangaka has created. The main characters both have a sunny disposition that effects those around them, and the storytelling gives the same relaxed feeling as Aria. Plus, the settings take place mainly around water or water related activities!

Pikari is practically a teenage Yotsuba who discovered the joy of scuba diving. Both are great warm and fuzzy slice-of-life series about finding fascination in everyday life.

Hyperactive girl and and a more composed, reserved girl become friends through a common hobby - diving/camping. SoL, slow pace, detailed art

How ironic it is that some even made recommendation with GTO for Grand Blue, while ignoring there exists Amanchuu. If you ever feel too much with the naked 503000 brothers, Amanchuu will definitely drive you into diving chilly and pleasantly, not to mention that Kozue Amano certainly masters in visual effect amongst panels. Though Grand Blue's college background makes more sense, I have the premonition that Amanchuu is better at the given concept, diving, in spite of its own inferiority in comparison to Aria.

It is easy to identify what isn't similar about these series considering Amanchu! does not have a romantic plot but I've generally felt the same impact from both manga. They are both coming of age stories and the main characters (Sawako and Dotty) all pass through a necessary growth to better themselves and have more self confidence as well as not rely on a close one (Kazehaya and Pikari). What is different is one may be focusing more on the friendship plot than the romance oriented one. Both are quite adorable though and do give a unique feeling of warmth. The impeccable art that goes with it,  read more

Kabu no Isaki and Amanchu gives off a natural feeling with its setting and themes. Both series focuses on a small yet meaningful cast of characters. Their storytelling has more of an episodic structure but connects with the overall tone of the series. Every chapter in itself feels like an adventure. Their activity takes them outdoors and exploration with a serene sense of elegance.

both are about scuba diving, although IO is more about mystery and supernatural while Amanchu is lighter and more fun to read

Amanchu! and Aqua are calm, elegant, and has the tranquility of a slow pacing story. Both series adapts their story and characters with a slice of life tone. The small yet colorful cast of characters can make the audience feel easily attached to with their personalities. Among other concepts, both series also has a charm with the overall tone of their story. Lighthearted comedy and meaningful relationships are forged in these two series that I'd highly recommend to anyone.

Both manga slice of life and involve sea/water genres. Though Amanchu is more into comedy and suiiki more into drama.
