TL;DR: For what it is, it's an alright pass-time manga. The fact that it's only 9 chapters works for and against it in that it's not drawn out but the ending is really sudden (not necessarily rushed, but sudden). if you have an hour free, go ahead and read it.

Here we go, my first review.

"You, the One and Only, and the 7 Billion Grim Reapers" might as well be renamed to "Dangling plotlines: The Manga". It starts out strong, although fairly cliche, and it's clear the mangaka had long-term intentions. However, from how the story was executed, it's fairly clear this was axed and the ... mangaka had to toss a sudden ending together.

Story 7 (spoilers of course):

The premise isn't something we haven't seen before. A tale of two star-crossed lovers who the forces of the universe are working to drive apart. The twist here is that the MC's girlfriend somehow killed humanity in the future and the "RUM" creatures are the dead humans returning to try and find and kill her. The plot is kickstarted when she makes the bold decision to kill herself to save everyone else but that sacrifice is quickly negated after the MC uses time travel with the help of his mentor to go back and save her. If you ignore the paradoxes, the time travel aspect is done fairly well.

The problem is that the manga is only 9 chapters. As I mentioned before, this leads to a sudden ending. Basically the time traveling MC who's now a RUM himself and his mentor see a solution and do it. That's it. There's nothing unexpected that happens. There's not really much tension leading up the final fight either which is very Naruto-esque.

To top it off, the original issue of humanity being eradicated is never solved.

Art 8:

The art is probably one of the better aspects of this manga. The characters are fairly well drawn in your typical shounen art style and the design of the "RUM" villains seems to be inspired by the Angels from Evangelion. The illustrator really captures the whole "Eldritch abomination" vibe really well. Nothing really to criticize here but nothing to sing about.

Character 4:

Probably the weakest part of the manga. Most of the characters fit in to archetypes that they never expand out of. You have your typical shounen "I will protect you" protagonist, the high-strung male childhood friend who pressures the MC into stuff, the mysterious mentor who helps our MC out, and angry g-men (and women) who are portrayed as antagonists.

My biggest gripe is the wasted potential of the female lead. She's established early on to be a tough badass who can handle herself in a fight. She's even able to make extremely difficult decisions like when she decided to kill herself to save the future. Ultimately though, she's forced to become a "damsel in distress" cliche who's only there to give the MC a MacGuffin to protect.

Enjoyment 6:

The premise for this manga was good and the twists were somewhat unique but even though I praised it for not being drawn out, the drawbacks from being so short are really apparent. It's a decent read but ultimately forgettable.
