| CR rewards mean literally nothing. Solo Leveling is an easily digestible, generic shounen with good animation, while Frienren requires minimum attention span and media literacy? Guess which is going to win. I wasn't even voting in this thing, because it's just popularity contest. |

| To anyone who is upset (rightfully) will say this dk who that lady was giving the award probably haven't watched a single minute of anime said "Anime of the year is given to the one which talked about most". Yes not the "best" "Popular". So ofc Freiren didn't win. |

| What is more atrocious was Frieren didn't win in OST category but Shit Leveling. And I kinda expected that Frieren will not win because SL is Aniplex and Crunchy production and the awards are being organized by them so obviously they will give awards to their titels. And Dandadan or Frieren did not win in best animation is another L. Like how Filler training arc with 1 good episode with good animation wins the best animation catagory. I must say Crunchy would have given this to Dandadan if they didn't have beef with Dandadan production committee. |

| Kind of funny seeing people glaze crunchroll popularity contest ignoring the fact that it was Frieren and Solo Leveling award show. Lol Solo leveling probably won because the judges and voters thought the mc was more attractive. That is what democracy comes to. |

It's just my hypothesis that three things have boosted SL's vote bank: - Recency bias of S2: It had the most anticipated Jeju arc and Beru fight. So when voting started (on mid of April) the popularity of SL in general was already skyrocketing. - S2 being exclusively available on Crunchyroll: Most of SL fandom was already on CR when the voting began. The highly active accounts during that time could outnumber any other fandom. Currently Frieren has about 240k ratings on CR where SL has almost 800k. On January 5th SL had about 370k ratings. - People vote for the IP not the season Just from my personal experience, outside MAL I don't often see people considering different seasons separately. Unless something is catastrophically bad about a season or the said person is a (self-proclaimed) critic, all seasons are taken together while judging an anime. |
