If it was a standard fantasy where ars is a child prodigy it wouldn't change anything story wise and it would make more sense that he acts like a child
Also it would remove the weird crap around ars and lycia when you remember hes a 30 year old man in a kid body

there's no right or wrong. He's reincarnated into the Ars meaning he has HIS MEMORIES of a past life whilst also being reborn and starting from scratch again. I couldn't care less if it was a fantasy instead as he would still be the same character

The only thing being isekai brought is to explain why Ars is so intelligent at a young age. A lot of isekai are like that. They can replace the character with someone in that world from out in the middle of nowhere, and nothing would change from it. That is just a way for isekai to skip on explaining why they are smart at a very young age.

This is just 100% correct. It adds zero value to the series and honestly just serves to make his relationship with his wife creepy. I pretend that he’s just a child prodigy when I watch it since his past life is never mentioned anyway.

Yeah many isekai are written as isekai only to hit the escapism some readers and anime watchers want to have.

It's definitely the case of Ars here so I agree.

However his relationship isn't weird considering he loves her for real and she does too.

About pedophilia I personally think that if I were to be reincarnated I would like to live a life I couldn't have when I was my prior self. I guess dating and finding your soulmate in another world at an age similar to yours (biologically speaking) is probably what most people would love to do. Hence why the fulfilment of that kind of dream is proeminent in show of that genre. That's not promoting pedophilia. Only fulfilling that desire of having someone to live with.

I'm also personally writing some scenes where a boy has his mind full of his 15yo girl classmate. That's not cuz I myself have lewd thoughts about minors but because the readers my writings are aimed at are 15yo children who might likely have feelings and dreams about their 15yo classmate. Light novel are in most case a mean for the reader to make some of their dreams come true. Hence why most heroins in romcoms are stunning beauties while the guy is your average high-schooler. You call that being generous towards the reader.

Yup, this is correct. I'd actually forgotten that it was an isekai.

Yup, it would be more weird when a 15 year old is attracted to a 30-something woman, even when he was reincarnated from a 30 yo guy.

@Mr_Sai It's usually the same people who complain when 200 year old loli vampires are sexualized. If it's a kid, then it's a kid. Why not apply the same logic to Ars and Rudeus? Even if they have the memories of an adult, their brain is physically that of a child, so they cannot think like an adult. The body and mind are deeply connected and people overlook that. Especially with Ars, you can see that even if he has knowledge and experience, his emotional responses are very much that of a child, so you can't just call him an adult in a kid's body. The problem is authors don't always make their protagonists act realistically and that's to be expected, it's fiction after all. But in principle, the pedo claims are ignorant and biased.

The reason it's an isekai is because the market for them is huge. The people who don't like isekai are more outspoken, but in terms of demographics more people like them than not— especially in Japan where these novels sell, so it makes sense from a business perspective for writers to make it an isekai.

Absolutely, the story would make more sense if he wasn't an Isekai MC.
I like to watch some anime, I like to talk about some anime, I dislike wars over some anime, but more than anything I love to live my life, anime is an enjoyable and entertaining addition onto my life but it's not my whole life.
