Gabi I think is a symbol of misunderstanding between titans and the humans which the writer used to make people realise the perspective of how blind each side really is and this is the problem in the world of AOT that needs to be solved which was cleared as gabi saw the people of Paradis but what happens when as a child it is in your muscle memory to hate on a certain race you can just change your mind at instant and hence gabi shot eren and she is somehow now one of the most hated characters

tldr; those who don't understand gabi haven't understood aot yet

Chill bro it's all about perspective. People have watched 60 episodes of Aot which was from Eldia's point of view so obviously they emphatize with Eldians more than Marleyans or any other human being. Besides the poll is about who's the most hated character and not who's the worst human being

I think it's just the bandwagon effect because social media was full of Gabi hate when she killed Sasha. They probably don't even hate her anymore, but they do remember that bandwagon.
Besides, half the casual viewers wouldn't remember who King Fritz was, so it's a given.

Honestly, for me, Attack on Titan started to suffer in Season 2 when they started expanding the lore of the world. I remember when someone pitched to me the idea of watching the show, it was “titans attacking humanity and the protagonist dies early”. Making the show a whole lot more complicated really hurt it in the end

But here most hated clearly means the most misunderstood character, Gabi redeemed herself in S4 P2. And it was clear that she was brainwashed, people won't see how Eren killed her friends (Zofia & Udo) who were dear to her just like Sasha was dear to Eren and others. Honestly, idgaf about Sasha anymore after seeing all the brainrots hating on Gabi.

If someone kills a member of your family, you will hate him much more than some abstract maniac. Even though from a rational point of view the maniac has done a lot more damage to society.

Floch is one of the few characters that never backed down, stuck true to his beliefs and did anything to save Eldia- no matter how awful his actions had to be.

All the while the cringevengers betrayed their own homeland to save the very people that tried to kill their own race, and Eren did a lobotomised version of Zero Requiem that failed, whilst crying about not being able to bone Mikasa.

People hate Gabi bc she’s an annoying bootlicker who killed Sasha. Eventually she, shockingly, learns that racism is bad and becomes a “good guy.” She then really doesn’t do much of anything for the remainder of the story except shoot moving targets with guns that weigh about half her weight while also moving.

King Fritz, on the other hand, is in like 3 or 4 chapters where he’s an asshole to Ymir the founder. However, Ymir still loves him bc she could “fix him” or whatever.

So who would you choose? The poorly written character who kills a fan favorite and has way to much screen time only for her character to realize that racism is bad, or the poorly written character who only exists in lore to abuse another poorly written character?

Ur the one that needs to learn how human emotion works. It's irrational. You will hate someone that hurt a person dear to you more than someone that killed thousands of strangers. This is even more arbitrary in fiction since you can easily wish for the death of a character just for them being annoying.

as you said king fitz might have started all that but gabi takes all the screen presence and hatred as a villainess who wants to kill the protagonist's tht we think of to this story, even though she was brainwashed kid still i hate her because she killed one of the protagonist's close friend and very charming character from our viewer perspective as per the storyline

I also saw the poll on YouTube and voted for king Fritz. Getting back to your question, I think whomever voted for Gabi half of them subconsciously know that Fritz is the ultimate worm here but king Fritz didn't get that much of a screen time to be felt like a existing character. So when they see him as a option on the poll thay feel like 😶 whatever man.

Well, I can’t “hate” Eren in the very meaning of the word, because he simply isn’t real, instead I like him very much because he’s a very well written character.

Anyway, you probably were talking about those people that actually justify his mass murdering and indiscriminately hate Gabi: well first I wanna point out that I do “hate” Gabi, but that’s because I realize it’s a joke and a meme to hate on her, but I do find her character also well written. Anyway yeah, I saw people that actually were radical and serious about this argument and I don’t understand either how can you take a fictional story so seriously and how can you justify a mass murderer, but yeah there are radical people in the world and we can’t really do anything about them.

The show itself made people think like that. Many characters killed in the anime but Sasha treated like main character. Maybe because she was murdered by someone else, but if you think samewise i hate isayama the most. just to make the story more impactful, he killed Hange the most brutal way and for nothing. But again, Sasha was emphasized way too much.
