As far as my knowledge goes, some big studios like MAPPA and Ufotable loves to milk their most popular series. Just like how Ufotable is milking Demon Slayer with smaller season covering filler arcs and how MAPPA kept milking AoT for years.
Still, this is not a reliable proof so who knows, maybe they'll release S3 by the end of 2025.

For starters, neither of these comes from the studios. Most of the time, animation studios have little to no control over the IPs they make, they are only contracted by the committee to make animation. And even though Ufotable and MAPPA are part of the committees from their respective series, they are still below other companies. Aniplex in the case of Demon Slayer, and TOHO for Jujutsu Kaisen. Second, Attack on Titan was never "milked for years". It's not like the pacing was dragged down to keep making more seasons, it was a mix of a premature naming choice for the sake of marketing and terrible production schedules leading the "final season" to be in constant need to be split for the sake of the staff. |

| @kingsley_017 The key difference is that Spy x Fam was a collab between CloverWorks and Wit Studios, with the workload being generally split between CW for the anime and Wit for the movie. On the other hand, JJK's core staff members should be on the CSM Reze movie, which doesn't even have a release window yet. So the idea of S3 releasing in 2025 is suicidal. |

Demon Slayer has genuinely ruined the anime movie scene. sure it's nice that we don't only get non canon movies now, but it seems like every studio saw how big Mugen Train or their recap movies were and now every anime needs to replicate that. Also why are they doing this when the Chainsaw Man movie was announced nearly a year ago with no updates?
| @oddeyez all these compilations recently made me realize how underrated those filler movies were. at least it was always fun seeing something new and more of the cast. also yeah reze movie feels forgotten at the moment, sadly. |
