Does this ever get good?

I have watched four chapters so far and I'm seriously beginning to questioning myself if is actually worth to continue. I don't often drop animes, in fact if you see my list I have a single dropped series, but this show is just too boring, nothing ever happens, there doesn't seem to be an story or plotline at all, every "mystery" is solved in a single episode and always by the protagonist, which, by the way, is one of the worsts MC that I've ever seen on any show. She's acting so indifferent and aphatics all the time, the only times when we see her genuinely happy is when she's making/trying medicines and poisons.

Also, all the characters are so plain and unidimensional, I don't really care for none of them, will all of this change any time or the series is just like that the whole time?

Episode 4 is the one building an extremely important subplot mystery, which will be brought up a lot for the rest of the Season. If at that point you think nothing happened and/or that it is boring, you just really didn't paid any attention, or it simply isn't the type of series you would enjoy.

L take, bud. Maomao is one of the greatest female protagonists I have ever come across in anime. If you're 4 episodes in and you don't like it, it's best you drop it now cause you won't understand what happens later thus your dislike will persist.

True Maomao is one of the most well written (if not the best) female Protagonist in Anime.

Maomao and Senku only share that they're both very passionate about what they love to do, but apart from that? Sure both are entertaining , but Maomao has MUCH more depth to her character

omg, you're entitled to your opinion but it was one of the most popular animes when it aired. it's one of those anime where you have to actually like mysteries and quirky characters

I didn’t think I would enjoy this anime bc the cover art is really girly but i did thoroughly. I like how chill it is and the story line is good. I would say watch 2-3 more episodes cause it does get better but I don’t think this season has a super deep story line. It seems more like a really good set up season.

Some advice would be to avoid just simply slandering a show purely because yoy didn't like it. many of your statements could easily be proven to just be wrong by people who have seen the show.

If you disliked it enough to create a hate post, spare the world the toxicity and just drop the show. Noone will care that one more person dropped a show they like but when someone who has barely seen it starts throwing unfounded insults, it's just disrespectful.

Bruh people talking about personal preference, but that's clearly not the problem here. This goof is saying that nothing ever happens and that every mystery is solved within an episode. Obvious lie. If there's anything wrong with this show, it's absolutely not that.

You need 3 things; perception, patience and Duolingo, cause damn I guess high school english class isn't enough in peru or wherever the fuck you're from.

@Xeconis What about this post seems like its unbelievable bait? Its literally just a guy saying the show is slow and boring. The show is a lot of one-shot mysteries that get solved in a single episode by an aloof MC. Whether or not you like that is a different matter but most of the post is just true.

I'm 8 episodes in and I don't see what the fuss is about this show. Its well made but as I said in a different thread, I would prefer if there were an extra layer to separate it from reality. Seeing someone in ancient China doing CPR, making chocolate from scratch, and never do any quack bs medicine in addition to accidentally sometimes doing realish medicine is distracting to me. Its also generally rather girly, which is fine, but not usually my particular cup of tea.
