| Ever heard of dry humor? An expressionless way of making jokes? Besides Cid is the main reason this conflict began. Without him, there is no "The eminence in shadow" or shadow garden. |
| for me it's 50-50 cause these girls carries the show and only other than shadow's fight scenes others are boring |

@Hitagi__Furude You're not alone! I mean I do enjoy his fight scenes, but anything beyond that is boring to me.
| @Apollo_Injustice For me... He is more like Aqua in Oshi No Ko... In a sense that eventhough i dont like him at all & i find him annoying & very aloof & insensitive... He needs to be in the show for the plot to work... But the biggest difference i had with the 2 of em... Aqua is intentionally made to be unlikable... Cid is the polar opposite & yet i dont like him at all!!! Atleast in Aqua's case... i understand his intentions & where it came from!!! Cid??? NAH!!! I REALLY DONT!!! |

The problem is Cid’s entire character after he is Isekai-ed He went from being a anti-hero type that wanted to gain strength and power to help others, to this pathetic lame character that didn’t care about anything, never listened or communicated, and acted like this life was a movie in which he played multiple rolls to his liking, while also pretending that Shadowed Garden is all a game. None of this has been humorous or enjoyable, because it is so obviously predicable and repetitive. This anime would have been better to have Cid actually working with Shadow Garden to make this world a better place for the people. Cid as the leader, with the 7 at his side, and the rest of the cult working in all the land to change the world. |

| You just don't find the joke funny. The rest of the jokes wouldn't work aswell without cid as a character, I don't see how you write a different mc to replace him without changing the note premise of the show. You could change certain jokes sure, but his concept needs to be relatively the same or it's just not as funny. |

Idk that's just my take on it since I love the Shadow Garden characters more than Cid lol Again.. Shadow is what made Alpha's character, and thats why you like her character. I find it unfathomable, to imagine a world of Eminence in shadow without Cid. But I guess there is a lot that could be explored in a "what if? " situation. |

I think it's the expectation of most isekai fans for every show to be self insert power fantasy, which is why so many people didn't pole the executioner and her way of life, for example. A lot of it seems to boil down to "the mc isn't how I want to project myself" I'm a lot of complaints about isekai. Mushoku tensei being another example of this, you are fairly obviously not supposed to support all of rudeus' actions, but rather their development overall as a person etc. |

| @ejleon Exactly, I like him being a self centered, money grubbing , greedy, unserious individual. I find his delusions amusing I enjoy how he doesn't take anything seriously while everyone arounds him do it makes for a fun dynamic. if everything was serious , it would get boring with how op he is, defeating the enemy without a sweat. So basically I like him cause he's a fraud. |
