The others just like making a scapegoat out of its fandom. I don't even find these so called annoying MHA fans on social media nowadays. Sometimes, on some posts, yes, but seldom do I come across them in as high numbers as some people claim. MHA has always been overtly hated and baselessly criticized. |

First of all, TikTok is terrible place to give an opinion on something, and a terrible app in general. Second of all, I think the MHA community is a little sensitive about shipping or simping for the character because they are underage or something like that. Of course, I’m just guessing from what I’ve seen so far. |

Maybe it's because I'm not on TikTok or X a lot where a lot of this discourse tends to take place, but I've never personally had an issue with MHA fans. Sure I've seen a few comments here and there, but no more so than any other fanbase of a popular show. It seems to be the one of the shows most criticised on here which doesn't receive much pushback when it happens. |

Perhaps some, but all that is just not the case I wasn't saying that every person who criticizes MHA is an imbecile. I meant to say that the ones who keep making baseless criticisms are. I know that there are certain aspects of the series that are probably not to everyone's tastes, and there's also a number of people who I presume mistakenly took MHA to be more centred around the school shounen genre and be less focused on hero activities (which I know makes little sense since the series is titled My Hero Academia). I for one have seen people who are more happy imagining their own fan fiction involving certain MHA characters taking place in their mind, instead of paying attention to the actual plot. Also there's a big difference between nitpicking and genuine constructive criticism. Criticisms pointed at the drop in quality of animation/adaption mistakes (although there are barely any except the My Villian Academia arc) are understandable. But the best that these "imbeciles" can come up with after their scrupulous analysis is "it's mid" - which tbh has turned into a pitiable bait, "no character development " - nonsense since there's not a single character at present except a very few who haven't come to the fore as much (like Koda, Shoji, Sero, Ojiro), who haven't had character development, or had a complete mini section dedicated to them to explain their circumstances before they became heroes. Koda and Shoji do get their much awaited stellar moments in the manga. Izuku, specifically isn't the same crybaby hero anymore. He knows how to retain the goodness, optimism and rectitude while being ruthless and relentless in his pursuit of justice, being the next symbol of hope, as and when required. He has inspired several classmates to become a better version of themselves, and come to terms with their weaknesses while honing their strengths. You get it. It's a long list. But it isn't too difficult to distinguish between a nonsensical censure and a genuine criticism. |

But it isn't too difficult to distinguish between a nonsensical censure and a genuine criticism. I see where you are coming from. However, I do feel some of the "nitpicking" is justifiable since it's an established story and therefore cannot be changed. Another big problem with the series fan base (at least in my experience) is the inability to take a second opinion (however, i find this to be true in most fan bases). For example, I find Bakugo's character to be insufferable. Furthering this thought, I find his dynamic with the series main character, Deku, to be inorganic and have the feeling of being forced at times. During my conversations with others about my opinion on the character, it appears that the other person becomes defensive towards the character. But I digress Whilst criticism is different than nitpicking, yes. I do feel there is a form of nitpicking in criticism. While yes, there can be bad criticism, nitpicking is still apparent over all. |

I can say as a past part of the problem, it’s just kinda toxic and weird in the fandom or at least it was. There were also lost of weird ships (Deku x Eri, Aizawa x All Might), forced ships (Deku x Bakugo {they were on bad terms then??} Todoroki x Uraraka {When have they even spoke???} Mineta x Tsu {only again.. why??}) , extremely long ships (Deku x All of Class A, {sometimes Shinso’s added as well}) also, a lot of insistence on the anime being the best of all and also being toxic on only your ships being right. Three years ago I got involved with that part of the fandom but I’ve moved on and thankfully everyone else I knew who did the same have moved on lol |

As someone that's been part of the mha community from the beginning, I can confidently say that 1. no life, pathetic, virgin shippers are the worst part of every community. 2. mha is made up of 90% shippers 3. not only are they pathetic shippers, but they get verbally aggressive if you don't support their disgusting degenerate fake relationships. 4. like most anime, the fans have this ridiculous superiority complex, while it's absolutely mid. 5. while other shows have shippers (they will sexualize ONE character like gojo, you creeps drool over every sexual connection that can be made, sexualizing cartoon characters is the MAJORITY of what the mha fans do. out of the dozens of mha groups I've joined over the years, not 1 has been even slightly decent. |

You’re basically arguing “you can’t ship them because it’s not canon” like have you ever heard of enemies to lovers? Well yeah, anyone can ship whatever but I didn’t fully specify on the point of that ship. Spending years bullying someone (physically, emotionally, verbally) and telling them to jump off a roof and shipping them together while they’re still in a toxic kinda relationship in the anime (now they’re alr ig..? still feel their friendship is weird) idk morally it just feels weird to have someones lifelong abusive bully shipped w them. In enemies to lovers most of the time at least they don’t spend their entire lives doing this and constantly destroy not just self-esteem like some but physically hurt them. Idk man. The other thing is just claiming a ship is canon and not accepting it as an opinion. I bring this up since Bakudeku is one of the main ships most shipped however these shippers are super prevalent in all the ships. It’s weird. It’s also the fact that the community has sent death threats to the mangaka Horikoshi over ships. I can’t say how large it was and if it was exaggerated but there still are people who did that which is messed up. There were even death threats sent to him over many other things outside of shipping. Overall it’s a toxic fandom from what I remember but not a bad anime |

Just one post about MHA, and you'll find these imbeciles assembled in numbers to spam "mid" and all related words in the comments. At one point I was confused by all this, since I thought that maybe something had happened concerning MHA that I didn't know about, but nah, it was all just a pathetic display of nonsensical hatred that many people decided to spew on MHA. well look who came out of the basement. MHA is not made up of 90% shippers. The shippers are just the most verbal part of the fandom, regrettably. The others who are peaceful fans usually have a lowkey presence online. Heck even I barely comment on MHA posts. I just share them with some of my friends. Sometimes I would just comment to know if there are any updates about the anime or if Hori or any of his assistants released any official art. From the beginning it's the go hard or go home story of an underdog who has nothing but his determination and resolve, and his devotion to his ambition of becoming a hero against all odds, toughing it out against peeps stronger and smarter than him, getting bloodied, broken, scarred and even failing, but never giving up; that's what inspired me to watch it, and that's what drives me to this day to continue watching this series with even more love. I've never cared what the others thought about it, especially given their groundless and downright ridiculous takes, and the shippers are lost in their own little fantasy world, so they're not something to be bothered about either. I've always just ignored them. But yeah I would agree that if you found them in every comment section it can be annoying (although I don't come across them as much nowadays). And shippers in other fandoms do sexualize all characters - tell me you haven't found r34 work and artworks of all the female characters in semi nude clothing on Instagram/Twitter/reddit lmao. Heck many artists post parts of the artwork with links to their patreon to make money off it. Each one to their own, there are those who like it, those who don't. But saying that they don't sexualize all characters is very inaccurate imo. Even the males are sexualized randomly π€£. |
