People who say OP has lots of filler have no idea what they're talking about. There's less than 100 eps of filler out the 1000+, so compare that to Naruto or Bleach. Pacing can drag sometimes but OP still one of the GOATs. Maybe check out One Pace or read the manga at some points if you feel like its getting slow.

I’m on episode 138 and absolutely love it. Filler and all. I just watch in between other shows so I don’t get burn-out watching it. It’s so cute, funny, lighthearted, but serious, and captivating when it needs to be. I watched it here and there as a kid, but I’m now angry I didn’t start it sooner as an adult. From what I heard the arcs get better as they go, some better than others, but are all good in their own way. :-)

the pacing starts to get bad around episode 250 from what I remember, early on it actually is paced fine, so either is fine if you're still at that point. After the pacing gets really bad, I'd recommend the manga, but you can make that decision for yourself if you ever feel the show is dragging

it absolutely is peak one piece, and it's one of my favorite arcs, but looking back on it that's when the anime specifically starts really slowing down pacing wise. I was anime only until the whole cake island arc, where the pacing was so bad it was unbearable, especially because at that point I was already watching weekly. if I were to go back and change anything about how I caught up to one piece, I would've started reading at around water 7/enies lobby, or maybe right after enies lobby ends

thats understandable, the pacing does get bad on the longer arcs. End of Dressrosa was a drag for me but a great arc otherwise. If I ever rewatch OP I'm definitely gonna read the manga at some of those bad pacing areas

I have watched one piece in different ways roughly about 7 times. Only parts I feel it dragged would be in fishman island, dressrosa and some parts in wano these would be the only times I recommend the manga. Like squanchdaddy mentioned you are still in a good part to continue the anime if you want.

The only correct answer is this: watch it until you stop enjoying it. If the *reason* you’re not enjoying it is *only* the pacing, it might be worth checking out the manga at that point. Don’t let people dictate to you what way you enjoy something; decide for yourself.

I hope you love One Piece. It’s one of my favorites. :)

Here are some pictures of the episodes of onepiece......
I'm way too bored to watch it, idk why people overhyped it so much....
Villains as well as the character design is really bad.....(infact, same frame is used twice)
the pace is way to slow tbh.....
i droped it and started again to actually see what's the so called "Greatness" is inside this anime...
well honestly, you should drop it and complete other anime....

The awful pacing is one of the anime's most infamous aspects and you should avoid the anime like the plague and read the manga instead.

no bias take here it goes, one piece for 1057 episodes of now there is only 10% filler which is one of the best anime that doesn't have filler from the big 3 what i'd recommend is watch it till arlong park and there decide if you want to get to crocodile (the first actual boss fight) i've got 2 people starting it actually and i've said the same thing they both are on arlong and have told me they are going to keep going because of how good it's going. yes the pacing is bad i think it's to do with not to catch up with the manga so they have time to work on. pacing tbh only is seen later on because at the start your mainly focused on backstory, character development and so, so not tooo bad. again i'd recommend arlong arc get to that it's around 35ish if you complete it. then decide if you watch to keep going if you get to crocodile arc and still feel exhausted i'd say yes drop. honestly ITS YOUR decision if you like it or not don't let ANYONE tell you different!

I agree One Piece's biggest flaw is it's pacing. Every episode is padded out a lot to make sure it's not catching up to the manga and so they don't have to add filler like they do with Naruto and Bleach. One Piece episodes tend to extend a lot of the scenes with clashes last longer than normal. You can see this very heavy in Wano. Luffy or any character for that matter will clash and it will stay on the same scene just changing the perspective back and fourth between each character for a minute and 30 seconds. It gets really annoying. Earlier One Piece didn't do this as much at least from my memory, but its gotten worse over time. It's why there are almost as many episodes as there are manga chapters.

you can watch the anime up until marineford/post marineford basically pre time skip. But after that I would suggest you to pick up the manga because the pacing gets relatively slow.

I watched around 800 episodes before I stopped watching it, not because I thought it was bad but it was simply too much - the community can get really weird at times, people can’t seem to be able to accept its flaws and all the pacing problems with the anime (the manga isn’t perfect either) but One piece has always been and will always be one of the greatest adventures anyone can experience and will always be close to my heart.
So to answers your question I don’t think you should drop it because it truly is an amazing story and unless you experience it for yourself you won’t really understand why so many people adore the show, so I would say just watch until you notice the issues and then decide if by that point you’re invested enough In the narrative that you don’t mind looking past those flaws.

hmm.. tough question, well.... if arlong park drew you in then it will get better and better imo, but seeing as though there is 1000 eps and people are still here, maybe 1000 eps is a lot to watch, maybe its too much, not sure... if you like it countinue watching if you find it boring maybe put on hold/drop in worst case scenario. like sometimes ive said, well god damn its lots of the same things over and over again, but thats cause one piece is dragged on, i cant deny it. in my opinion anyway.

I've watched 746 episodes and I've enjoyed every minute of it. The only time it felt like it dragged for me was in the Alabasta arc, but that was still good, and there was still progression happening. Also, as for fillers, I've enjoyed them. They are all pretty short, and eventually when I'd see fillers they would be only two episodes long for the last few I've seen. The only filler I thought was kinda bad was when this special episode played right in the middle of the Ennie's Lobby arc. That sucked, not cause it was bad, but because it disrupted the flow and came out of nowhere. Otherwise, they're genuinely fine, and there's one that's even pretty good (the G-8 arc).

one piece isn’t for everyone, and that’s alright. but if you like it so far i say keep on watching it bc it IS one of my favorites of all time. if you feel like it’s dragging too much for you, I say put it on pause and pick it back up when you’re ready. that’s what I do. it’s taken me 7 years to get to episode 970+ but that’s fine by me. (given I have rewatched 800 episodes or so)

watch it on one pace. they've edited out all the bs toei does to increase episode length. I think they've done that from around water 7 to wano(half of it) . Although personally I didn't have any trouble watching the anime even with the bad pacing and definitely still prefer the anime over manga after reading the manga to avoid spoilers

kinda the same exact thing for me with the whole social media thing I'm almost 600 episodes in and the pacing definitely get bad at times someone I knew that was watching it skipped like the first half of a future arc BC the pacing got pretty bad and he just wanted to see luffys first power up and from what I have seen the pacing gets just as bad so I'd say search up a filler list and skip filler and if you get bored BC of bad pacing skip a episode or two and watch the recap also take breaks in between the long arcs two come and watch other stuff to not burn out

If the pacing is sounds like a problem to you, you can watch the One Pace version that has all the filler and recaps removed: http://zippyshare.com/onepace/mgbyllo1/dir.html

Some early arcs are unfinished so you can switch back to the original anime/manga if you want to

Also all episodes are named after what chapters they've been adapted from so if you want to switch to the manga you will know which chapter to read

Lol, I think that you don't know the meaning of filler and cannon. Naruto have the most no of fillers in the anime. Most of the one piece episodes are cannon, they will just show the backstory of every crewmates.

If you rather watch the anime than read the manga, then just watch the anime.
There is almost no filler. The pace can be awful sometimes, but most of time is fine. I just have problems with that in one arc, and I'm absolutely enjoying it so much.

I'm on episode 58 and I'm pretty sure I'm going to drop it. I'd say it really depends on what you like in a show. This is an extremely goofy show that doesn't take itself remotely seriously and many of the characters are frustratingly stupid. From what I've heard though if you like that more light-hearted approach with their sense of humor and have the time to dedicate, it seems like it's worth it.

The anime is good enough even pacing-wise for the first 500 or so episodes. So after that you can just switch to the "One PACE" fan edit of the anime instead. Either way this is an incredible epic that's absolutely worth experiencing in any medium.
