So we all know that Ymir interacted with the Founding Titan thing at a young age and I'm assuming she was like ten at that time? Anyway I think after she got her Titan ability she went on to live another 13 years before inevitably sacrificing herself for King Fritz life

What I'm saying is that the Curse of the 13 years is most likely linked to the amount of years the original founder lived (AKA Ymir) before getting killed off

That's like the most logical explanation I can think of right now so I sure hope either Eren or better yet Ymir herself explains everything in the coming episodes, what do y'all think?

I'll buy it.

And if it's true, Isayama will get canceled (not that he isn't already, am I right manga readers?)

You have an impressive memory for not forgetting about these small details.

Honestly the guy is already getting cancelled by the Manga enjoyers so adding the anime onlys into the mix would start a real life rumbling ๐Ÿ’€

I think she just lost the will to live just like Zeke did in Part 1 after he exploded, she clearly didn't want to continue living like a slave and probably took that opportunity to end her misery

That makes sense. My personal theory was that she was 13 when she made contact with "something" and now everyone who get's the power of the titans are cursed to live only 13 years. But I think yours makes more sense.

we get to see in s4p1 ep6, Falco says that for a titan to regenerate they need to have a strong will to live. Ymir here, wanted to be loved, but seeing that in the last moments Fritz had no remorse or sympathy, just ordered her to get up made her lose all will to live. Plus the spear went straight through her heart which probably would've been very hard to heal even if she did have the will to live.

ymir shouldn't be dead by that attack.
but she choose to end her own life.
just like what reiner about to do in part 1.
he want to end his suffering and do suicide

Yeah and exactly like Zeke when he exploded on Levi's cart, he lost his will to live there so Ymir went ahead and saved him herself

13 is considered a cursed number so I think the author just wanted to use that to symbolise that those having Titans powers are cursed and nothing good comes out of it and they may have had a better life without it.

It is literally mentioned in season 3 that Ymir lived 13 years after awakening her titan powers so every titan shifter also lives for 13 years. That is the curse of Ymir.
