Just wanted to ask the people who have watched it already but is the pacing in dressrosa really as bad as people say or are people just overreacting about it. I really dont see how they could air an episode with just two characters standing still a whole episode like I've heard. So are the episodes just scattered with a lot of mini segments of characters doing things that make it feel so slow or is there actually just 5-10 minutes of nothing but falling buildings/staredowns?

i would say it felt like a little bit of both, you get segments of different side characters fighting decent battles, but you also get recaps of these staredowns. a lot of dressrosa is 4-7 minute recaps, which is probably how toei managed to get a >100 episode arc.

as an anime only, i think i wouldn't be as frustrated as manga readers who experienced the pacing this arc

As an anime-only, it wasn't the worst thing in the world. I know manga readers hate the pacing in post-timeskip in general. This may or may not mean something but I can't remember too many staredowns and buildings falling for so long lol. Fantastic arc still.

Was an anime only up until i caught up, and yeah i didn't really feel it was all that bad, just dont look up the chapter correspondence per episode and skip the recap and a certain flashback will he repeated about a 100 times just skip that and youre good.

Or just switch to one pace like i did from Zou, you'll have a much better experience with dressrosa if you watch one pace cus even the anime with the terrible pacing is my top 5 arcs so imagine the arc with actually good pacing

Nah people aren't overreacting. The pacing in Dressrosa is God awful. I would highly recommend just reading the manga for Dressrosa and watching some of the best moments in the arc animated, like Luffy vs Doffy and all the amazing shit Usopp pulls off. Definitely the Franky vs Senor Pink fight too. And then come back to the anime full time for Whole Cake, where the pacing is significantly better. Watching One Pace is also an option, personally I've never checked it out because it wàsnt a thing when I was catching up to One Piece but I've been told it's a pretty solid viewing experience.

Passing isn’t the best but it’s worth it to be honest

dressrosa is a great great arc which the anime absolutely ruined the anime adapted 100ch in 118eps, plz use 'One Pace' for watching this arc it adapts the entire arc in 48eps and makes the arc enjoyable

It’s pretty good in the manga, everything is quite interesting. I agree the pacing in the anime is dreadful… five minutes of recap followed by five minutes of cinematics every episode
