because clover (the studio that turned this into an anime) is infamously known for making bad adaptations of manga and other works, does this mean that this is also a bad adaptation? i hope this is at least a decent adaptation.

animation wise it’s great but I didn’t rlly care too much for the story but that’s probably cause i was expecting it to be like the other fate series.

This was actually one of my favorite series from fate. Animation, scripting and music was hella on point for this one.

As someone who played the game, think that adaptation was pretty good overall, with the smooth and clean animations is another bonus too. Also probably one of the best FGO adaptation in terms of anime.

They skipped like 80% of the chapters , cutting even romantic scenes in a rom-com story...
The pacing was also extremely weird.
That's why the score plunged. Kinda suprised it's still above 8.

I've played FGO to see if there is any difference, well there is some details the haven't mentioned, not something important, but there was in the show some scenes we haven't seen in the game (just like the conversation between Ritsuka and Ushi).
Overall the adaptation was good and remarkable.

Wonder Egg Priority is not an adaptation, it’s an original anime that was ruined because the staff had no idea where it was going and we’re still writing it while it was airing. And the rushed adaptations of Promised Neverland and Horimiya were not Cloverworks’s fault. The production committee (which consists mostly of the rights holders from the manga publisher) decided to end the TPN anime with season 2 because the manga was over and season 1 wasn’t profitable, and Horimiya’s committee ordered a one-cour adaptation of the whole series. If you’re ever upset about the pacing of an anime adaptation (like, say, MHA season 5) remember that it’s pretty much never the studio’s fault, those decisions are made entirely by the production committee, which the studio is not part of unless it’s an original anime.

Cloverworks has made more good anime than bad, and usually when it is bad it’s because of a production committee, not the studio.

because they dont skipped the romance of main couple they cut are side characters that occupies 60 or so chapters. And be surprised because the anime is a good adaption thats why its 8. And its very good for binging watch cuz its completed

thats is because they adapting some source material that need sequels. So its not a studios fault but if the anime is popular enough. And mostly there shows ends on great note. And being salty about TPN s2 adaption is stupid

they tho. After the confession the dragged chapters starts its on chpter 70 I think. The main couple are non existent. And the side characters take so much chapters. That not even present in webmanga. The only cut in anime are the misunderstandings arcs and im sad the sports fest which I hope for 2cours but the manga is ending so they adapt the highlights of Horimiya which is good animated

Yes , there is dragging chapters past the 60/70 mark , but the Anime cutted/rushed content way before that...
I mean , right into Episode 1 , they kept the tattoo part of Chapter 2 , but cutted the present part...
If you count all of those romantic parts skipped in all Episodes , it definitely does not adds up to just "cutting the dragging chapters".

And how can you say that it's a good adaptation , if just after you say that it adapted the highlights of it ?
It got a beautiful Art/Animation , good OSTs , it's a good Anime with good romance , but from an adaptation point , it's average.

+ It's a complete short romance Anime , so it's true that it can be easily apprecied.
Yet , when you see how the score plunged and how the Manga was/is loved , it could definitely have easily got a way better score if they didn't cutted out multiples chapters. (+Fixing the pacing)

That part is for drama that is gor misunderstanding about who the real Miyamura but it remedied by his character arcs and about his monolugues. Its not waste because they explain how he has earrings and tattos in anime and the haircut.

Yes because highlights are in line on webmanga that adapts in manga the dragged are not present webmanga even the ending is the as the webmanga to manga. Just the dragged parts are unnecessary in whole story because of side characters in the end are under developed. And they added some weird Characterization on Hori and the main couple are always side tracked in their story.

Even the manga score is falling too. Just the ending is underwhelming. The pacing after binging is not an issue now because you can control the paced versus waiting for weekly release. Thats why this anime has very good rewatch and binging value

Yes , they kept the drama/comedic part about his tattoo , but cutted the romantic part about his present.
Where is the moment where Miyamura gives Hori a ring , getting her embarrassed and happy ?
It's smalls moments like that that makes a Rom-com Manga an actual Rom-com , and not just Rom-drama. (At least for me...)

The Anime is an adaptation of the Manga , not the web one , so it shouldn't even be compared. (+There is the OVAs)
Like most people , i didn't touched the Webmanga , so i won't talk more about it.

But does an adaptation that takes only the good parts of a work , ignoring the average/bad ones , makes it a good adaptation ?
I personally don't think so , but maybe it's just me.

True , even the Manga is falling , mostly because of the dragging chapters past 60/70.
Since the Anime skipped those , it should have been better received by the fans , yet , since they skipped so much non-dragging content , we , not happy. =(

My main problem in the pacing of the Anime is those cut/transition in-episode , between chapters.
Dunno if it's just me again , but it was so damn weird/tiring to watch.

Overall , i like the Anime , but i'd re-read/recommend the Manga everytime over re-watching/recommending his adaptation.

the confession is romantic and highlight of the anime. So giving some rings is nice but the christmas vibe and asking for marriage is better (at least for me)

Yea thats why but the manga is a adaption of webmanga like OPM and MP100 they just copy it and give great artstyle, but in Horimiya case they added some chapters to milked thats why manga readers dropped the manga because of dragged and no development to main cast even supporting cast.

Its not for me too but the circimstance says otherwise. And the anime even the issue is good and popular not rushed like others because of how the works. You can skipped/cut unnecessary chapters and no bearing to the story which the director knows. And for the reception its mostly positive the negatives are most is boring romance, they dont like Hori and side characters are boring too and they cut some fav arcs but the other spectrum is they liked how the anime is compact and not adapted the dragged which makes the manga downhill.

Yea I know im sad that sports not animated. Hoping 2cour to it to adapt it greatly but producers decide things not studio so the director chose the best scenario even to be smooth for 1cour which has issues but mostly not that bad.

Thats why the anime is compliment to manga to fill in blanks type of deal. So its win win for the source readers and anime onlies imo

True , but both is even better.
Especially when the ring present is in the beginning and the marriage proposal at the end of the story , with a lot of events in between.

True , the Manga is then an average/bad adaptation of the Webmanga.

Now that the Anime adapted the ending , there is no way we'll get a 2nd Season , or even an OVA. (The Webmanga OVAs could still get more episodes tho , even if i don't know with what they could bundle it.)

that is true but even in the manga its just not part the plot so they decide to just not include it. Which is for me is enough.

But a good one for countless rushed adaptions other mangas this one is not much and the adaption of Horimiya is good regardless of adapting chapters, because of the nature of the story and has no overarching narrative just SOL romcom. Thats why I dont felt that the anime is rushed
