| Just follow all the TV series in the order they came out and you're set. The movies are abridged versions of the TV series and the OVAs are optional. This one was pretty OK though: https://myanimelist.net/anime/40262/Haikyuu__Riku_vs_Kuu watch it after you're done with the third season. As for sports recommendations, my personal favorites are: 1. Ashita no Joe 2. Initial D 3. Hajime no Ippo 4. Slam Dunk in order from best to worst. |

You can skip the first 2 OVA if you want, but I highly recommend that you watch the 3rd one (Riku vs Kuu). Also, the recap movies of season 2 and 3 contain some extra scenes, they are quite good you should check them out too. There is another OVA, not many people know about it, it's also after Season 2, not related to story but really fun to watch. |

| ova's are canon! so are the recap movies(has some extra scenes in them), they aren't that important but i def recommend them if you end up enjoying the series a lot i think ookiku furibatte, kuroko basketball and diamond no ace's cast had a same vibe with haikyuu !! they're not a volleyball anime so a bit different in that aspect but still a fun sports show with loveable characters to watch |
