Takemitchy's character has reached a turning point when Hina died the second time, with his goal for the second cour to become the head of Toman. However, after all the buildup for the much anticipated Halloween brawl, he is proven to be not much of a help at all. Yes he helps motivate his gangmates but it's baffling to me why someone has to remind him during the fight that he has to fight, shouldn't he already knew that? This brawl is weeks in planning, we didn't even see this dude train at all. He's in a gang, his objective is to be the leader, and he doesn't do anything to improve himself. It's only during the end of episode 21 where he stepped up to stop Mikey from commiting murder, he acted as a wildcard where he should be acting smart.

Comparing him to another MC who went through similar development: Subaru from Re:Zero. Subaru's character also went through a turning point in episode 18 where he learned that he shouldn't hate himself and he should believe in what others see in him. He still made mistakes after that, but we can see growth and drive to be better. He stopped wanting to be something he's not and focused on utilizing his abilities to his advantage.

On the other hand, I don't see any sign of improvement from Takemitchy after Hina died again. I kept wondering if he's just emotional or stupid. He spent days gathering information and he didn't gain any advantage at all.

Honestly this is just me venting about the way his character is written. It feels like he reacts before acting most of the time for plot convenience. I haven't read the manga and I know he's gonna get better at some point but as of right now, his character frustrates me.

Yo hate him all you want......coz that's how his character is setup....I personally was going mad and was about to punch the screen of my device when all the shit was happening and take*itchy* was just standing there, waiting for a fly to land into his runway of a mouth which he kept open for the whole fight
I mean,I personally felt that it was reasonable when he wasn't able to fight during the so-called arc where he was supposed to aspire for being the head of toman coz heyy,no way is he beating the shit outta people 3-4 years older than him only coz he's a shounen protagonist😂😂 ....he made for a perfect punching bag ig
I'm an anime only watcher and when I saw the manga Bois having literal orgasm over a mere glimpse of the "not gonna do shit"chifuyu.....I was hyped af but when he actually showed up,I was quite underwhelmed. You see that's the thing with these arcs......there is a lot of difference in the way they are presented in the manga and the anime....so I guess all we can do is hate these characters so that we can get the feels we got from baji's character when it went from -420 to 69......I hated his character at first but heyy,I found it pretty nice in the end........so I say we hate mr.takebitchy so that we can get the feels when the character gets beter

This right here, it’s really frustrating because I feel like the writer/s did a disservice to the character, I was fully waiting for him to ask Draken or Mitsuya to train him but even throughout this latest fight, he just sits there contemplating life and hoping everything magically works out. I’m not expecting him to become an MMA fighter or anything but I’d at least like to see him try. I’ve reach a point in which whenever I see him talking about his goal/resolve or whatever I just go “stfu man”. If things don’t change quickly I might end up hating him.

I'm honestly very annoyed at how Takemichi was this fight. Like you'd think after seeing Hina die right in front of him and vowing to fix things he'd at least do something during the fight rather than just stand there and do nothing the whole time. Hell he didn't even end up doing much it was Baji and that charm that did all the effort.

like bruh it's not like I'm expecting him to be super strong or smth, but at least have some sort of gameplan lmao or at the very least some sort of improv going on like in the previous fight with Draken. This was just terrible. idk how he went through the draken stabbing and hina dying incidents yet somehow have his character regress

honestly the recent developments have been making TR starting to be more of a guilty pleasure at this point

I completely agree with your take here.Subaru is personally my favourite character in all of anime so there might be bias here but that episode 18 changed him completely,so much so that he faced the Giant Whale head on and even let go of his pride when talking with Julius and admitted to his faults. From being slothful and prideful to the opposite of that at the end of the first season and from being selfless for the sake of his friends by dying and doing everything by himself to being selfish in wanting everyone to join him and for a better future for the people he cares about,Thats why i love Subaru.Takemitchy's character development will take time but the fact it keeps going from "Nah dont worry Hina i gotchu and everyone imma become toman leader and be helpful and be confident"to "Shite mayn i cant do this crap oh mayn i cry" is at times funny to me personally.Sorry for thr bad impression on takemitchi's character but he really needs a steady development and not zig zag between his old confidentless self to the one he wants to be.

I guess the manga experience is alot different than just an anime experience because I literally binge it in one sitting and Damnnn... I really like Takemitchy's character development he becomes the real definition of a tank.
"I'll kill everyone with my art, I'll do whatever it takes to make that happen."

All feelings are valid. As long as you don't get sad because there are people that feel differently, who gives a shit?

Don’t worry, you’re completely inclined to not like Takemitchy. I feel the same way watching each episode every week and we see every week some stuff going down that Takemitchy knew about, but doesn’t do anything because he’s got that Izuku crybaby syndrome. I may just wait until the season finishes to watch the rest because I just can’t keep watching the MC constantly crying EVERY episode.

Part of takemichi's character is that he is not physically strong and is a bit of a bitch. The show does kinda do him dirty compared to the manga. It's just the way he's been adapted

No.
You seem to think this is some sort of battle action shounen and him to solve evey issue with violence.
It is not.

If you think, only physical prowess is relevant, then you are immature as well as anyone who make such pointless thread.

I like Take, he represents me in terms of being weak, but I wouldn't have the mental sanity he has... Seeing all the people important to you die in front of you is something that 97% couldn't handle it, let alone death after death.

You're absolutely right. I feel irritated by watching him on screen and your comparison with subaru is on point. Even while watching the latest episode I felt wildly irritated and wanted to quit this show. As well as the animation isn't on point. They're making it seem like a daily soap with suspense.

Yes yes it is valid. Because I dislike him a lot as well and I'm on ep 11. So no matter how much better he develops, I'll still consider him the anime's weak point and dislike him.
