He wanted to continue the uchiha bloodline and wanted his children to live in a good and safe society now that the great ninja war ended and after breaking the law and being considered a criminal he knew there was only one whore left who would suck his balls no matter what , so he married her . you don't necessarily love the person you married , you are either helpless or out of options.

pretty sure my man was og supposed to get with naruto which would be why his relationship with sakura is so underdeveloped. you can definitely canon it however you want but most people don’t think he actually “loves” her.

I do agree that in general, all romantic relationships were under developed since it wasn't the main point of the series. But I remember writing a lengthy post about this in episode 475 discussions 🤣 this is the short version:

Even without reference to events in Boruto, I think Sakura still held a special place in his life. Both Sakura and Naruto are special to him. I wouldn't call his relationship with Naruto romantic though. It's more like a family bond they have.

Well, by the end of the series, it was pretty much his duty to marry her, Imagine if Naruto gets his dream (both becoming hokage and having a family of his own), and Sasuke becomes ninja Batman, atoning for his sins by keeping a watchful eye over the world. Then Sakura just ends up failing to date the guy she's had her eyes for years and to even surpass her master. That's too sad, right?
