After reading Real no Heroine wa Irimasen! it started to bother me how often mangas seem to make fun of characters traumas and phobias. In Real Heroine the MC was given a letter by the girl he liked telling him to meet up with her in a park, but she never came and he spent all night there, eventually catching pneumonia for his troubles. That's why he started to fear the opposite sex, and upon learning this the female lead actually gets angry at the girl for what she did to him. I'd very much appreciate it if anyone could recommend some manga to me that has something similar and doesn't just use a character's trauma to poke fun of or belittle them.

Maybe you'd like Asper Kanojo. There are other manga where characters take problems seriously, but for trauma specifically, this is the best that I know of.

Try Silent voice, is also short (7 volumes). Is a story about a guy that had suicidal tendency and the deaf girl he used to bully.

Already read that one. It's a good read.

I've seen this one before, but haven't read it yet. I'll give it a try.

Kenta Shinohara may write a lot of comedy, but problems are ALWAYS taken seriously.

This one's a masterpiece I often find myself revisiting. You really should read it.
