From a scale of Hideo Kojima to Hirohiko Araki, how much Western shit did they inject into this?
I wish Cowboy Bebop never existed.

I'm not too sure about that.

I do not understand how you expect a normal discussion to happen when you use words such as "westaboo" or "western shit". If this wasn't even your purpose, I wonder why even bother using the forums?

Well, with weaboo being thrown around willy nilly, I assumed that saying the opposite wouldn't rustle jimmies. It's only fair.
I wish Cowboy Bebop never existed.

they have English singers and a city design reminiscent of a western city, outside of that its pretty stereotypically anime especially in how tuesday reacts to virtually anything. Its less that the series feels aiming towards the west and more it just feels like a show from the early 2000's, but thats when the anime boom in america happened so that time period is generally considered the westaboo shows even though they were just typical stuff that happened to get popular here.

Its much like another show that felt like it came out in the early 2000's megalo box but with singing instead of boxing, if that series felt like it was tarnishing your proud nippon culture then you wont like this.

Jizzy as you would call yourself because youre a dick The most butthurt award goes to you And clearly you havent watched that many shows thats why you cant determine if a show is unique or not Or maybe you're just a child who likes common stuffs where hero saves the day and guys gets all the girls. Sad taste you have there kid you came up to me in the first place making you look more like a kid who got slapped without me even knowing it and start crying about it to me

let's see... Refugee crisis, basically the woman version of trump (with a twist later on), lots of LGBT and PoC representation, strong and independent women, some characters are from United States,i don't remember them ever mentioning anything or anyone from japan and I'm on episode 20.

I'd say this is Not for people who want the true, tried and tested classic weeb experience (misogynistic, patriarchal). It's an alright show but it irks me a bit how heavily they target the normie US market, But oh well anything to get that sweet Netflix money, I guess.

There is already LGBT in anime it’s called yuri and yaoi. 90% of anime characters are POC (Japanese is not white)

And Netflix doesn’t fund any anime shows they just have exclusives.
HACKs! 🤢🤮

you 100% knew what I was talking about. don't "ackchyually" me. that's for nerds.

and yaoi and yuri in anime/manga/etc are mostly for sexualization, they're not representation.

Not enough western shit, more sci-fi shit. I was hoping for more "Banana Fish".
And got "Your lie in April crossed with Idol trash", no complaining mind you.

Maybe partially because Shichinirou Watanabe's biggest hit, Cowboy Bebop, was overseas instead on Japan, and CB was heavily inspired by western media. So I don't think it's a surprise if Watanabe has reached the conclusion he'll be more successful trying to appeal to Western audiences instead of Japanese audiences. But this is just based on my observations as someone who has watched every single anime directed by him, from Macross Plus to this one.
