| Yeah, so this is strange. I tried to upload this gif as my profile picture.  And as you can see by looking on my profile, it's a still image. Upon closer examination, it also comes up as a jpg. So what's happening? It says that I'm aloud to upload a gif as my picture. |

| Uhm, I had to add something here. For further explanation, I have checked back at "Picture". And, I just understood something. Maybe, the image(s) that can be uploaded as your profile picture must be in those said formats. Example like, for gif, it did say gif but not eventually will turn out as a real gif, hence the gif format. Since jpg, gif and png formats are allowed, maybe it is webp and other than those formats which have been mentioned that are not allowed to be uploaded as your profile picture. I also have downloaded this one picture on my computer which is in .gif link/format but it just appeared as an image. That's what I only know after I calculated it back. And, that might be the reason why your gif only appeared as an image. |
| @AyameTomoko I think your gif is oversized for qualifying as a forum picture that's why it only shows up as a static image. Your image is 110 kB whereas the size limit is 50 kB Use some online size reduction service maybe. ED1 - fml. op meant profile picture and not forum picture. I had to re0read the replies and everything.  |

| MAL supports the gif format, that doesn't mean it supports animated images. Single-frame gif files exist |
