Thanks.

Also still having problems with mods not validating anything for months on end. Would be nice to have a solution for entries still in queue, at least to have the info available locally and syncable manually after they are validated. Otherwise, I may as well ditch the site entirely, since I have to keep an Excel sheet on the side.

How about having Taiga try to recognize titles outside of parenthesis?
Like, often there'll be releases which go like "Japanese title (English title)" and of course Taiga can't recognize them.
I don't think this would cause too many issues if you excluded this rule when whatever was in parenthesis was a number (i.e. year), TV, OVA, ONA, Special, Music or Movie (basically, all the anime types on MAL).

I haven't read all the request perhaps it's been requested but not responded.
Anyway, I simply want to add a column about new episode detected between "Progress" and "Score" column.
For example,
Title | Progress | New EP* | Score
Gintama° | 30/??? | 42 | 9
It's minor but I think it's very helpful since some anime is fail to recognize and possibly may play the wrong episode, such as TV to OVA (if available) or vise versa. A simple highlight isn't enough for me, so thanks before.

You can hover over the progress bar and it'll tell you that stuff.

Question, besides uTorrent, are there any other bittorrent clients that Taiga supports?

When manually editing list data about a show, could the number of rewatches be added as a field? Currently I always go to the MAL site to make sure my rewatch count has been updated properly, and I update it directly from there if I'm just rewatching a movie, would be nice to be able to do that from Taiga.

Or is it not needed because Taiga updates it correctly if "rewatching" has been set? I'm always anxious about relying on that.

Taiga won't be able to do that because MAL doesn't provide that field.
Taiga keeps track of this number (though I don't think it displays it anywhere) in-app, not connected to MAL. It can only keep track of the number of times you rewatched on Taiga.
AfaIk, it increases the number on MAL just fine after you rewatch something, but you won't be able to see or edit this number on Taiga.

Basically, Taiga works when rewatching things and properly increasing the number of rewatchs, you just can't edit the number of rewatchs yourself.

@dragonandante
The latest version adds support for Deluge, but it only works with deluge-console (i.e. you need to disable Classic Mode).

@Fadeway
Setting how many times a series has been re-watched is not possible due to the limitations of MAL API.

An alternate view for the anime list page would be great. Something similar to the seasons page where you can see the cover pictures and a short description would be great.

Hi, could you add a feature that marks episodes which are fillers? Would be awesome, sorry if someone already asked this.

EDIT: been scripting some stuff and i created a JSON api which returns an array of filler episodes. You just need to do an API call which contains the MAL id and it'd return the fillers. Could be an interesting addition. If you'd like to host it yourself i can github the php and mysql.

I will sometimes watch episodes with my friends and then update my list from my phone. It would be nice if taiga had already refreshed when I got back. What about a way to have taiga auto synchronize after a selected period of time? Something similar to how it automatically checks for new torrents after a selected period of time.

I apologize if this has already been answered but I wanted to ask, have there been any new developments regarding adding Anime News Network (ANN) to Taiga? The support page notes that AniList is the only candidate, and I also found an old post paying that there were certain restrictions.

If anyone knows anything, or would be able to point me in the right direction, I'd really appreciate it. Thank you!

It would help if anime in the completed list would be highlighted another color to indicate you still have the series, with all its episodes, just in case you want to re-watch a series on a rainy day or something.

There are some who delete the folder after watching, but what if you have a series that you really like and would always watch it any day without having to always navigate to the anime folder and searching for it. Seeing it highlighted in taiga using a different color makes it that much easier. Still, this is a just a suggestion.

This was a mistake i made because i thought the blue highlighted meant the shows you currently have on the hdd. I've re written the post for that mistake. Its been some time since i checked taiga settings and i read the blue highlight indicates there is are new episode you've yet to watch.

What i really meant was, what if anime in the completed list could be highlighted another color to still indicate you have the series saved instead of deleted.

This already exists, it's the little dark green bar at the bottom of the progress bar.

While it is not a live STREAMING site, gogoanime.io is a great site that has a huge collection of anime. Plus, it is one of the most-quickly updated sites out there. I am not positive how your streaming detection coding works, but gogoanime.io does have a distinguishable separation between episodes in the form of numbered buttons.

I also noticed that, of the providers on the list, only crunchyroll supports simulcasts in the US(and you have to pay a premium membership fee to see the newest episodes for the first week).
If at all possible, could you please add gogoanime.io to your list of supported media providers? Or maybe re-enable the ability for users to add custom providers (maybe with a blacklist or something to prevent illegal sites)

Pretty sure there's no interest in supporting illegal streams. And no, CR isn't the only website that simulcasts in the US.

While there are admittedly other sites that do stream simulcasts in the US, are they (1)supported by taiga? (2)available EVERYWHERE in the US? (3)do they even have all of the most recent series available on them?

Regardless... Taiga supports streams for people who want to use the legal ones, if you're gonna use the illegal ones or can't use the legal ones, use torrents instead, don't support illegal streams. Your third point could be used for just about every legal stream since none of them have everything and the seasons and split between various ones.
Also, CR and FUNi are merging, not sure what this means for FUNi's website (since it's currently not supported) but things could change and maybe support could be added.

A great feature would be being able to sync playback history across devices. I frequently use Taiga on both my laptop and PC and would like to have a record of the stuff I've watched in total rather than it being split between two computers.

Thanks for the great application, never had an issue with it.

This seems extremely unlikely as Taiga stores this information locally, to sync it between machines would mean to have to store it online too.

A better suggestion would be to ask erengy to make the columns in the History tab sortable (by Anime title, Details, Last modified). This seems way simpler.
With that implemented, you'd simply have to merge the contents of both files, and then sort however you want. Currently Taiga will sort by the order in the history.xml file, so things would get out of order if you merged the files now, though you can still manually sort the data yourself.

It's actually quite easy to do it yourself in Excel or Google Sheets by using the "=RIGHT([text];[number])" function and sorting the results. I can walk you through the process if you want.

Is it possible to make it show you a notification when the list is updated?
I have it set up so that it auto updates the episode after 600 seconds, but I guess I would like to see a notification when it happens.

It could even be the same notification that you get when the anime is recognized,

but instead of saying "Now Playing" it should say "Status Updated" or something among those lines.

It'd be nice if feature 'Ask for confirmation' about adding episode as watched could be selected for watching and rewatching series separately. Because it's kinda irritating to see yourself ending rewatching after you turn the latest episode on to watch some lovely scene while progress bar is still on episode 2.

There should be an option to stop Taiga from adding episodes as watched unless they are the subsquent episode, alternatively you can make it so Taiga asks for confirmation before updating any episode or just increase the time it takes Taiga to mark an episode as watched.

a good feature would be to let us cross-sync our lists (i.e:Hummingbird to MAL and vise versa) that way if one of the sites ever dies, we still would have access to a up to date copy of our list.

Also, it would be nice to add Anilist.co to the services for the fact that it has a very flexible API and would allow better estimation of aired episodes using the timers.

Can we ever expect Manga list support? I know it probably can't auto detect unless you are reading webmanga or from a cbz/cbr but it would be nice to just click in one application to note we have read a new chapter or something also if baka-mangaupdates is used as a base it could even show when a series has a new translated chapter/volume out.
Just feels like it would be nice to have my manga and anime updates all in one application.

Hey!
First off, I love Taiga. Period.

Now, I'm not exactly requesting a new feature but wondering what happened to the old one...
When you're synced with your MAL account and you're looking through your list (completed, plan to watch etc etc) you could filter them out by genres through the search bar previously. I'm not sure why, but it doesn't work anymore. Maybe someone could enlighten me as to why? Or maybe I'm not doing it right, I don't know...
