What do you think about Pan Nationalism such as Pan Turkism, Pan Slavism, Pan Latinism, Pan Asianism, Pan Turanism, Pan Arabism?

Do you believe in them?

A good example Would be Brexit where many againts it are Pan Europeanists who want to put the interests of Europe as a whole above the Interests of the UK and many in favour of it are Pan Angloists who want to push the interests of the Anglosphere and favour English Unity above European Unity

Most of this nationalism is to protect a regions economic interest, probably, and an attempt to preserve the areas culture. However, with the internet people are exposed to more ideas and different cultures so I wouldn't just limit myself to one cultural idea....that would be boring.

I believe in Pan-Germanism. Or better: include all Theedish Countries together to form the ultimate supreme Ruler of the World.

Not really. But I do see Swiss, Austrians and Luxembourgians as "Germans" that live in different States.

To some degree, yes. I wish for the Nordic countries or at least Scandinavia to upgrade into a federation. Then, I think it would be wise to keep good and tight relations with Germany and the Anglosphere.

Countries which languages, cultures and societies are similar to one another will find it easier to collaborate.
However, they do not necessary have to fuse together into a superstate or something like that. And countries that are quite different from each other can still have friendly relations of course.

I'm anti-nationalist. =l

"Nationalism is inherently divisive because it highlights perceived differences between people, emphasizing an individual's identification with their own nation. The idea is also potentially oppressive because it submerges individual identity within a national whole, and gives elites or political leaders potential opportunities to manipulate or control the masses." As long as pan-nationalism doesn't devolve into EU-level degeneracy, I'm perfectly OK with it.

I think pan nationalism is a good way to fight back against imperialism .America hated Chavez because he was strongly promoting pan Latinamericanism and America wants to keep Latin America divided. Pan Nationalism played a role in decolonization.

Lol, Germans don't even see other Germans as actual Germans sometimes. There used to be a running gag that Pomeranians and Prussians were all Germanized slavs and thus not real Germans and that Bavarians are their own thing altogether. It's amazing the little German countries and kingdoms all managed to unite in the 1800s, it's a testament to Prussia's political genius.

Too bad the Allies wiped Prussia off the map after WW2 and its capital got turned into a big Soviet monument and is still owned by Russia, lol.

I believe nationalism will rise again amidst of the >current year
Europeans entrusted their sovereignity on the few leftist elites in the EU for a few decades and realized that their idea is worse than they thought. The fire shall rise again
Twitter and it's consequences had been a disaster for the human race

Call an Austrian a German and get ready for a shitstorm.

I had a German friend who would always insist that Hitler was Austrian and would get mad whenever I called him German, lol.

It's kind of funny because making a distinction between Austrians and Germans is like saying Quebecois aren't Canadian just because they don't want to be called that. I can say I'm Nigerian, does that make me Nigerian? Nope.

Lol, yeah. It's pretty amusing, the only country I think might be justified in saying they're not German is Switzerland, only because Swiss German is so different it's almost only German in name, they even need subtitles so Germans can understand them, lol.

Switzerland has been independent for so long and has a lot of French and Italian speakers so it's kind of justified.

Austria would have been part of Germany if Prussia didn't hate them.

Southerners are less American than Austrians are German, imo.

Yeah, pretty much. Prussia just wanted to be the dominant one in Germany and didn't want to share the dominance with Austria. To be fair, Prussian culture was far better for the German Empire than Austrian culture was for the Austrian Empire. Austria was so fail that they had to rely on Germany all through WW1 for everything, lol. Was so bad that people said Germany was dragging a corpse everywhere.

It is pretty weird that Southern culture is so vastly different from the rest of the US. I wonder why?

As a native I can answer this.

The north had lots of big cities and industrialism. They were where the cultural movements started because so many people were close that ideas could spread.

The south was full of farms and very isolated. Most of the plantation owners viewed themselves as a regional identity rather than a national identity because they could not identify with the northern mindset.

Also, less diversity after the Civil War=less open minds.

That running Gag is a bit old fashioned. However, it's true that there are some People who identify with their Region more than with their whole Culture. I would regard Bavaria, Prussia and Austria as Subcultures of the German Culture.
I also agree with you that it was an amazing Feat to unite that many German Countries into one National State.

They are technically Germans. First of all, its Name means "Eastern Realm" in German, they speak the same Language where the Pronunciation and Grammar is even closer to South Germany than South Germany's to North Germany's.
Secondly, Austria used to be the leading German Country in the Holy Roman Empire of German Nation. As such, the "Austrians" still saw themselves mostly as Germans before the second Half of the 20th Century.
Thirdly, just compare the old Emperor Hymn of Austria-Hungary with "The Song of the Germans" whose third Stanza is the national Anthem of Germany. Coincidence? I don't think so.

Having developed an own National Identity and rejecting the Notion that they are Germans is betraying their own History. I can say that Hitler was technically Austrian, since his Family had been living there and he had been born there, but he was always a German as well.

Austria would have been part of Germany if Prussia didn't hate them.
Rather than the Prussian-Austrian Conflict, it was the Influence of the Victory Powers that made Austria have its own National Identity.

I'm sort of for pan-aryan cooperation. But with individual cultures languages and identities preserved within territorial boundaries. Like a nationalist non dictatorial pro-white EU, incorporating the extra-European diaspora (Nth America, Australia, Argentina / Uruguay, and an independent boer land etc etc) that keeps white countries preserved as white via collective brute military force (pan-aryan nato).

let me have my larping. Stfu.

As a Slav, I can say pan-Slavism wouldn't work for five seconds. Most Slavic countries still hold grudges against each others for various historical reasons. Hell, even Czechoslovakia - which had no such problems - didn't last. And then there's the issue of Russia, which is just too big and too powerful not to smother everyone else in the potential union. I would welcome closer cooperation between Slavic countries, though.

I approve of pan-nationalism generally, unless it's culturally or politically strained. Just don't approve of pan-religious nationalism, particularly pan-islamism. Imagine trying to accommodating modern islam into its ideal state, don't particularly want to find out the consequences of that.

It differs on what countries are involved. I think people should think more about the well being of people all over the world rather than just their own nations but more of the focus should be on their own country because it's easier to do things more localized.

Pan nationalism among Latin American nations that would lead to a Latin American union state under socialism with nukes and a large army would be great. An African union state could possibly work to if governed by a non corrupt leader.
