Wow... I never bothered checking the Bloodlust page, but it kind of pisses me off that the US got totally shafted by the DVD release of this. No sub? WTF?! Or, if there is a subbed DVD, where can I find one?

To the best of my memory, Bloodlust was originally released in English and premiered in the States where it got a limited theatrical release. In Japan, it was only available with English voice acting and Japanese subtitles for quite some time, though it was eventually dubbed in Japanese. You'd probably have to import the Japanese DVD, or perhaps wait and see if it'll be rereleased in English in some format.

VHD is originally English-language, and the dub is nice, so I see no sense in having such a butthurt about the lack of Japanese track.

As others have mentioned, VGD: Bloodlust WAS released in English, so in a way it doesn't really count as a dub. I will say however that it is a great dub, courtesy of Jack Fletcher, an exceptionally talented ADR director who has churned out great work (see the Ghibli dubs KIKI, LAPUTA, and MONONOKE as proof). This is another good effort, with Andrew Philpot turning in a fine performance as D, and John Rafter Lee and Mike McShane stealing every scene they're in as charismatic Meier Link and D's chatty left hand.

The Japanese language version with subtitles is actually better. The dialog is smarter, and Left Hand doesn't talk or crack stupid jokes as much.
