| Just saw it :) Nothing much happened, but I still think it was great! Got a really good look into Ikkaku's story, and the relation with Renji was interresting! |

| Horrible episode, the most flashbacks from bleach have been really boring. It should just've continued to the next battle. This was a let down since after the fillers =/ |

| I really don't understand how Ikkaku was able to defeat him without dying. Arrancar are supposed to be strong. I find it hilarious that the Arrancar that was defeated by Ikkaku is a weakling compared to the one that will be fighting Ichigo / Rukia. Lame. |
| huh ? Ikkaku obviously has captain level skill, and ye arrancars do have a little skill differense |
| The diff arrancar have different numbers symbolizing their strength, the lower the number the stronger they are, not sure what number the arrancar that fought ikkaku was but the arrancar fighting ichigo is 6 and if my mind serves me right, |

| Ikkaku can't have captain skill. He got his ass WHOPPED by pre-bankai Ichigo. Sure they might say he does, but Ikkaku is a pansy. |
| well unlike anyone else, ikkaku is the only non-taichou who had bankai for quite a while. The only others are ichigo and Renji, and they obtained bankai only recently. And taichou class is defined by being able to perform bankai, since that's the only requirement of doing one of the qualification tests to become a taichou........ |

| Performing bankai was out of the question, I understand that. Still, being able to perform bankai should make the user more powerful while it's not being used. Sort of like Super Saiyans in DBZ. The longer you were in Super Saiyan form, the easier it was to stay in it and the stronger you were out of it. |
| The thing is, it's not ikakku's fault that he looks like a whimp, it's more like Ichigo that looks overpowered. How was Ichigo able to whoop some kenpachi ass in his pre-bankai state? And Kenpachi was able to hold off both Tousen and Komamura with relative ease. Explain that. |
| Thats all speculation i guess, but thing in kenpachi vs ichigo was that they both had the same combat specialty, pure strength and somehow ichigo won that with the help of zangetsu. When Kenpachi beat tousen it was because of his insane personality and of course strength/skill. Kenpachi never really fought vs komamura that much. But Kenpachi does have great skill The whole thing around this might be not so "realistic" but it's still plausible and therefore "okay" considering this is an anime =) |

Since suddenly someone is omega strong and lost to ichigo in his pre-bankai. |
| I think that tousen and ichimaru[whatever his name is] and aizen all hid their full strength other wise they would have been deemed suspicious ^^ but thats just what i think and btw how does anyone know when ikkaku leanred bankai? |

| The strongest person doesn't necessarily win the fight everytime, maybe Ikkaku was stronger then ichigo back then but still lost somehow. Maybe he underestimated him *shrug* |

The way I would see it is that Ikkaku cant really handle his bankai completely since he broke it very easity again arankar, And allso as other ppl said Ikkaku had bankai for a while but he did not use it much and as far as I remember from renji and Biaku (Rukia's brother, dont know how to spell his name) is that you need like 10 years of practive with bankai before you can use it freely and then you are using bankai better and dont have mastery of it. Similarely to Ichigo, the hollow part of him knows how to use the sword well , compare to Ichigo that knows how to swing it. |

Thats quite easy, Kempachi dont have anything but massive reatsu, he cant release his sword nor perform bankai. If he could he would be one of the strongest people in soul society, maybe not as powerfull as the comodor comander. |

| man what a debate anyways... RUKIA KICKS ASS! theres my 2 cents...oh yeah, i liked the episode. It wouldve been better to show where we left off before they did the "life flashing before your eyes" trick, but it cant be helped. They probably did that to add extra time to tell the flashabck story. |

| i saw that but i didnt know what it ment. i had a thought about the whole thing... Maybe a one pint in time he was a captin but then left the soul society to get married that could explain why ichigo and his sisters see ghost and hollows, and it could also explain how ichigo was able to be a death god and why that soul society let him be a represntative ... i dont know its just my guess what do you guys think |

| In the manga it is explained (a little but not fully) He was a captain, but something happened (don't remember if they say what) and he "couldn't" continue for personal reasons |

| I did enjoy that episode, it's good to get background sometimes, even if it does break up action. I like Ikkaku, he's probably one of my favourite characters, and the relation with Renji was also interesting... :D |
