Monogatari Series: Second Season
| This has been bugging me quite a bit lately. We used to be able to tell what age Shinobu was at a given time because she would always change her outfit to match but recently she has always been wearing her white and pink dress with her short heels but I have been noticing a drastic change in height between episodes lately. I will be using Horriblesubs numbering In episode 8 even with her heels on Shinobu only came up to the bottom of Koyomi's chest, this can best be seen at the 1 minute mark when Koyomi faces to the side in front of the lamp post. In the recent arc however she comes up to Koyomi's chin, this can best be seen in episode 17, If I remember correctly Shinobu can change anywhere from 8-12 years old without having a need for Koyomi's blood. So has she been changing on a whim lately? Or has Shaft simply not been keeping track of what height she should be? I always figured she stayed 8 years old most of the time because it was easiest for her to get around, as an 8 year old she can easily be carried by Koyomi or fit in his bicycle's front basket. If we go by Nisio's early character height chart Koyomi is 165cm midstep, 8 years old Shinobu comes to roughly around the bottom of his chest, 10 years old Shinobu with legs slightly spread comes to slightly below Koyomi's shoulders, and 12 years old Shinobu is roughly around chin height, with 17 years old Shinobu being the same height as Koyomi. | Why is Bazett in that chart? I believe it's the eight year old Shinobu .In ep19 at 02:08(horrible subs video)she reaches Koyomi's head while on a desk(and that while the desk is closer to us). And in Nise they made Koyomi and Karen having the same height when she is taller than him.They fixed that later. |
