Dawizz said:If that was her intention she failed miserably, all the supporting female characters are dog shit, super narcissistic, weak pathetic caricatures, dangerous "roll models" for girls/woman in general. It's not just Anissina, it's Yuri's mother, and Cecilie.
You can have strong women characters with out them having the need to be annoying cvnts, always, at every opportunity taking down the males characters, talking shit about them, turning them into something they clearly are not and putting them in clear situations they don't want to be in.
Never listening to anyone because, I am a woman hear me roar kind of thing. I 100% agree with you on this, my point was that those type of female characters do appeal to teenage girls, specially fujoshis. Take Miko or Celi for example, they immediately start shipping Yuuri with Wolfram without even bothering read the entire situation and fujoshis love these two for being "accepting" and "open minded" towards their sons.
Don't get me wrong the males characters are also horrible/terrible role models for boys/guys and are solely to blame for allowing the females to put them in those situations, how many times does Anissina needs to torture Günter in her pathetic attends at being an "inventor"? How many times is Günter going to allow her to keep doing it? Speak your mind! Say something, do something put her down/put her in her place, oh I forgot we can't have that, can't we? I could say the exact same about Yuuri and Wolfram, how many time do you think Wolfram grabs Yuuri's collar and accuses him of cheating just because he looked at or talked to someone? Yuuri says he's not into guys so why can't he speak up his mind say that the engagement was a mistake straight to Wolfram's face and break up? Anissian's main target is Gwendal by the way, Gwendal x Anissina is supposed to be a thing and author recently tweeted that Gwendal letting out a sound with Anissina whipping him in a skimpy outfit is "cute".
All of them are terrible portrayals of womanhood, Yuri's mother, baby Jesus in a fvcking cracker, she wanted a daughter so badly that she was turning Yuri into a tranny, bleh, Yuri is a boy, he says it without a doubt that he is a boy and yet even later on she still pushes that nonsense upon Yuri. Again I agree but at the point he might as well be a girl since the author says she gives him all her likes so she can be in sync with him, he is just a self-insert for her, the LN has reached a point where it looks like she has entirely forgotten that she wrote Yuuri to be a male.
Cecilie, horrible/terrible example for little girls, it's okay girls to be sluts, sleep around with countless men, have multiple children from multiple partners and in no way what so ever no one will say anything about it behind your backs. I agree with this as well and to add Wolfram treated Conrad like an untouchable for years but mother of the year never said anything or corrected him. Not to mention how she was more interested in sleeping with men than ruling the country which ultimately put Conrad and other half-demons through hell during the war.
Last time I checked Wolfram had his uses, he is a soldier and more than once he has put himself in harms way for Yuri sake, and I think he truly loves Yuri but can't seem to be able to express it in the correct way, partly do to how he was raised by a horrible/terrible mother.
That's why I can tolerate him, not just because he is a super gay eye candy. For an 82 year old trained soldier he useless, remember how he lost to Hube in a few seconds and later instigated him which put Yuuri's life in danger, if not for Conrad he would be dead. Also how he holds Yuuri hostage to a mistaken engagement and keeps on twisting his words every time Yuuri tries to tell him that he's not interested? And the whole engagement situation with Wolfram and Elizabeth which is exactly the same as Yuuri and Wolfram's but he forces Yuuri to fight for him threatening him with a sword. Then you have him chasing down Yuuri down the hallway with a sword just because Yuuri said he wanted to go out and talk to girls and then falls down a flight of stairs after being cornered by Wolfram. Also Wolfram tries to rape Yuuri saying that their relationship will not make any progress if he left things up to Yuuri, unfortunately that scene was cut out from the anime. Even a blind man can tell that Wolfram loves Yuuri but what about Yuuri not having any romantic feeling for Wolfram? Since you were so concerned for the wellbeing of Gwendal and Gunter, how about showing a little concern for Yuuri as well? If you are putting all the blame for Wolfram's actions on his mother then how did Gwendal and Conrad manage to grow up into decent men? And by the way Wolfram was raised partly raised by his uncle Valtorana. If Wolfram was an ugly bastard and did the same things to Yuuri everyone would have hated him. |
