Could you give me some recommendations? Preferably something long (at least >50 chapters). Genre does not really matter, although I should say beforehand that I'm not a fan of monster-of-the-week stories.

On your plan to read:

Saint☆Onii-san
Hunter x Hunter

Not on your list:
Noblesse (shounen, fantasy, vampire, comedy, action, school life... colored manga! the number of chapter looks incredibly high, but they are very shorts!)

Ah, I guess I should have been more thorough in updating. I'm reading noblesse, and although I do like the webtoonish style, I'm a bit bored by how black-and-white all characters are. Same goes for ability, a similar work by (I believe) the same authors. I'm usually ok with the whole "enemies become allies" thing that shounen series always pull, but noblesse is just downright ridiculous when it comes to morality.

Try Mushishi since you liked the anime.

Try Dragon Head if you don;t mind some apocalyptic manga with a really dark twist.

Or you could try Kokou no Hito. While it starts out like it is going to be a shounen sports manga it really starts going everywhere but...Legitimately there is some villian hanging from the ceiling who does the sort of "oho so that is the guy" and then he never comes back in 170 chapters...

Thanks for the recs, everyone. Is girls of the wilds not just another ecchi sports manga?

Ah, you're right, manhwa. All right, I'll give it a shot!

I liked Dragon Head, especially because of the crapsack world they're stuck in. (post-)apocalyptic always works for me. Keep 'em coming!

If you liked Dragon Head, some others that aren't quite as dark are:
EX: Shounen Hyouryuu (closest I have to Dragon Head)
Aphorism (Just a swing in the dark)
Sidonia no Kishi (Like Dragon Head on a spaceship in the future)
EDIT - I noticed that neither of these are over 50 chapters, but they fit Dragon Head
