Halo-like. Huge battles in space, aliens. Even something like Battlestar Galactica would be cool. My anime list isn't very representative, as I just started watching anime a couple days ago. I had high hopes for Planetes but after watching the first episode I could tell it wasn't for me.

Also, I've already seen Halo Legends, which I thought was OK.

I didn't see Code Geass on your list it's pretty epic and a sci-fi. It's not in space, but I would still it a chance if you haven't seen it yet.

Obligatory Legend of the Galactic Heroes rec.

Seconding Gurren Lagann.

Jyu Oh Sei is more fantasy than sci-fi and doesn't have a whole lot of epic space battles.

I gave those recs more on the sci fi genre not really the fighting in space. Also check out Eureka 7.

Epic sci-fi:
Psycho pass
Gundam 00
Code Geass
Guilty Crown
Total Eclipse
Neon Genesis Evangelium
Macross Frontier

Actualy i know just how you feel, but believe me, planetes is your thing. It is really hard to watch at first, but ones you finish it youlll miss it, same thing with Neon Genesis. But i suggest watching the other ones i recomended, so you start to have a liking. Specially Code Geass, cant believe you havent watched it.

THIS. The second half will probably give you much of what you are looking for.
Hope you enjoy it Hihi7.

I had forgotten that there was a Starship Troopers anime. I liked the live action movies. I think I might look into that...

Alright, even more!
I'll keep Code Geass in mind, and maybe give Planetes another shot. And there is plenty more ITT, so I don't think I'll get bored. Thanks, everyone.

If you want a Battlestar-like anime I'd recommend Toward the Terra.
