Fate/Zero
Chaos;Head
Steins;Gate
Mnemosyne

I chose these 4 anime in particular because when I try to recall past anime that I've watched, these anime are the ones that pop up most often, and they all have a similar feeling to them. I can't thoroughly describe the feeling, but I'll give you the gist of it. Pretty much, these anime make me feel lonely and sad. Most importantly though, these anime DID NOT make me feel like I was wasting my time. The action and violence is just icing on the cake, so I'd prefer some if there are any.

Check my anime list so that you don't rec something I might have already watched.

I prefer new art and no comedy or mechas.

Wow okay; Maybe you should start looking at the current ongoing series that will end in a couple of weeks such as :

- Psycho-Pass;
- Shinsekai yori;
- Zetsuen no Tempest. (I noticed that they all belonged in your plan to watch list so I'm guessing you're waiting for them to be completed first...)

There's also Robotics;Notes an ongoing series (soon done) from the same makers of Steins;Gate... it's not mecha to my eyes, because I also don't like mecha... but it has highly pleased me so far and has its plot twists. Only problem is the latest episode released, so I can't guarantee a good ending yet, but it's not done airing yet, so!...

Aside from those, I'm sorry I couldn't help you more; I'm probably in a similar situation you're in...

But should you watch an anime that I liked and you dropped, I'd suggest Angel Beats!

I totally understand until you said that sentence.

I will never go back to Angel Beats! because I can't stand ghosts that look like people. What's worse is these ghosts got guns and scythes and they play around at a nonexistent purgatory school. It's a stupid idea. Furthermore, Angel Beats! is pretty heavy on comedy.

Well Angel Beats! is as heavy in comedy as Steins;Gates is in my opinion. But I understand you because I too was reluctant on a girly-ish styled anime such as Angel Beats and I had dropped it out after two episodes too, but after the third episode or so, my cold heart was touched and I marathoned it! Haha.

I suggested it to you because you actually watched Clannad that I could not stand, but I'm not forcing it on you, I was just trying to suggest an anime since you seem to be stuck and I loved it.

Tbh I think it's hard to suggest something that can be up to your expectations 'cause you saw many great anime masterpieces; you'd need some sort of anime expert suggest you an anime, but it might end up being some anime from the 90s or something with too many episodes (you seem to like short anime series).

Probably one of the worst series you could recommend

If he hasn't seen Code Geass, he doesn't plan to...

And look at his drop list

6/10

And Code Geass has Mecha aswell...

Can't stand Code Geass's "haha, I'm teh masta strategist, imma save da world! Imma dressed all bad-ass while doing it too!"

That's just childish.

Kind of off topic but I see you liked Another and you haven't watched the OVA.
If you liked Another you should check it out.

Yeah I watched it. I didn't know that the "first episode" was an OVA. It was pretty sweet. Then it turned sad.
