| Hey guys. Only really just got into anime within the last week or so. Prior to that I watched the first half of FMA: Brotherhood over a year ago and seen the odd anime film but that was about it. I happened to come across a copy of Highlander: The Search For Vengeance on eBay and being a fan of the original Highlander, I had to pick it up. That sparked some interest in anime for me and I've decided I'm going to start watching a few series. Decided to order a few series on DVD to get my started. Tokko, Jyu Oh Sei and Ouran High School Host Club. Picked those because I could get them cheap, they all seem a bit different to each other and after watching small chunks of random episodes, they seem pretty interesting. While I'm waiting for them to arrive, I've decided to watch FMA: Brotherhood from where I left off. So yea, I'm pretty much a total noob when it comes to anime but a friend suggested that I check out this site to bring myself up to speed with the world of anime and it seems like a good way to find new series/movies that will interest me. I'm hoping to start frequenting these forums, so thought I'd say hi. |

Personally i just choose which Anime i plan to watch after reading the respective synopsis (i don't care about reviews or recommendations); but usually what people do (and it is a good way to start) is to watch a certain anime and then if you liked it look for recommendations (you have a section of recommendations on MAL) of people that watched that very same anime that you did; you can also read reviews about that anime to guess if you would like it or not. Also after watching a few you will eventually find your own favorite genres of anime, and like that you can narrow your choices to pick something of your interest :) and nice to meet you xD |

| Welcome to MAL. You can use http://www.crunchyroll.com to watch free anime but they have ads playing on their videos if your not a subscribed member. I just torrent all my anime. Ad block used to block video ads on Cruchyroll but for some reason it stopped working. |

Well, that and I was mainly interested in stuff that I could pick up cheap. I know it's fairly easy to stream or download this stuff but I guess you could say I'm a bit of a hoarder when it comes to entertainment media. I like to have legit physical copies of things. I'm a bit of a video game collector and within the last couple years I took a real liking to JRPGs and from there I decided I wanted to try out some Japanese animation which is how I ended up watching FMA. It's strange in a sense because prior to this I was never even the slightest bit interested in anime. In fact, dare I say it, I always dismissed it as being a bit childish. How wrong I was.
