Subbed every time.. I don't even think it's close, the sub is always leagues better than the dub could ever hope to be.

I normally like subs because I like to hear the original voices. I'm not trying to learn Japanese, but I just like hearing it. Only with a few series do I like the dub. One series was dragonball and that is mainly cause Goku's squeaky voice irritated me to no end.

I tend to prefer subs, but I won't ignore a dub that's done well, and there have been some series (Baccano, Emma, among others) that I have wanted dubs for.

Subs because there's no good reason for me to watch dubbed besides the random episode that I can only find dubbed.

I was happy with dubs when I was a kid cause I wasn't even aware of Japanese voice acting...but after I watched a good subbed series it was pretty much impossible to go back.

Definitely prefer subs better but will watch dubs on certain anime. Subs seems to sound a bit better, imo, dubs aren't bad either. Just sort of selective about which anime Yoko watches in dub.

I prefer subbed shows. Treating them as a work of art anime is made with a Japanese voice in mind. Everything just sounds much more natural with the original voice actors. To be fair though, dubs provide maximum clarification and allow you to focus more on the show itself. Some might disagree, but viewing a show in your own language is not something that can be outright beaten (usually) by one that has subtitles with original Japanese voices.

I like both of them :D If it only has a sub, I'll watch it subbed. If the show has a dub, I'll give it a shot, but if the voices suck, Ill revert back to sub. Some shows I love the dub to like Highschool of the Dead and Durarara, but then others like Gravitation are just awful.

I mostly watch sub, I love hearing Japanese and seeing the animations that match. There are a few anime that just have to watch Dubbed, Black Lagoon being one of them.

Subbed, in movies too, japanese or not, it's not about the language, it's about the original voice acting.

I enjoy both Dub and Sub depending on the anime. I'll follow the stereotype of many anime viewers and say that Ghost in the Shell and Cowboy Bebop are so superior in Dub that doubting the claim should be banned.

I watch more anime in subbed than dubbed though.

sub above dub anytime, when watching dubbed series its hard to hear the original emotions the director and the VA put in to the work, which in turn makes it a lot less enjoyable to watch.

For me it depends. If it's an old anime with an old bad dub I prefer subs, but these days modern dubbing has gotten good. I like watching the full visuals free of reading the text t the bottom, so with newer anime I prefer dub.

I mostly watch subbed. I used to be able to watch only dubbed. Then, I became addicted to Bleach and had to watch alot of it subbed. After that, I became addicted to Gintama which really made me confortable with watching anime subbed. Now, watching anime dubbed is just wierd for me.

Dont really mind either way except when dubbed seems to have scenes cut out and confuse you though it is disorienting to watch both. Seemed like Eden of the east was more serious and less relaxing in dubbed then subbed

Subs, usually. Though if a good dub is available I will watch that instead. Series like FMA, FMP, Cowboy Bebop, Samurai Champloo, Dragonball Z, Yu Yu Hakusho, Rurouni Kenshin, Gundam Wing, Gundam SEED, G Gundam, IGPX, Ghost in the Shell SAC, Inuyasha and many more all have excellent english dubs.

I generally prefer dubs because I can't read subs and enjoy the anime at the same time. However, if the dub completely butchered the anime, then I'll try to watch the subbed. I hope to learn Japanese so I won't have to deal with all this, but in the meanwhile I'll have to stick with dubs.

I think originality is overrated, despite what gets lost in translation. Its just not something we're willing to admit to ourselves.

I like BOTH, though I tend to favor dub. If only because as an American, some of the American plots like Baccano need English voices and their varied accents. Sometimes I feel Japanese settings need Jap voices.

Then again, there are some dub actors like Crispin Freeman as Shizuo Heiwajima, Colleen Clinkenbeard as Yuuko in XXXHolic who do an indisputably better job than their Japanese counterparts.

Its my belief that (voice casting aside) it depends on how much respect you have for the ideals the show is trying to communicate. THAT and if you have any intelligent artistic sense.

Subs are better but can't forget that what got me to watch anime was the dub animes that were in adult swim on Saturdays so I can't hate on dubs even with the bad voice acting sometimes

I also prefer original voicing, and reading sub while watching the animation feels like a natural thing ...but only a few animes that have been aired in Canada I can't help but prefer the dubs, since it's how I first watched it.

I'll call my self out on being an outcast, I prefer dubs because I don't feel compelled to read text and watch something at the same time, its simply too much work for me, my brain can't handle all the intricate steps for processing all of this information at once, when I do watch dubs, I sometimes watch some scenes more than 2 times if I didn't understand the context or the meaning it as trying to convey, so its not very convenient for me.

Subbed no question about it.
The voices of characters is a big part so if you change that it will not be as the director/creator wanted it to be. (against dubbed stuff in any way or form) :)

I prefer subs, as except for a very small minority the dubs quality is, ahem, dubious at best. I think dubs should be reserved for kids, who often just can't keep up with subs.
My favorite genres: good Quality, better Quality, best Quality, Über-Quality.
Scoring criteria: Existence does not precede Essence.

Current status: OFFLINE. Even if not really.

So if you have intelligent artistic sense you will watched dubbed anime? And really dubs takes out things that the original author put in there, so how is that staying with the ideals that the show is trying to communicate.

I go for Subbed... BUT i have a reason: The dubs in spashish are just horrible (most of them). And for reasons that i just dont fully understand, the english releases are very hard to get in here becouse... you know... they are in english and licensed and stuff... So i prefer to go for subs. If we had better voice actors and/or we had a better licensing program refering to anime (or any goos series for that matter, since they always seem to avoid my country) i wiould totally go for it.

When I first started watching, I would only watched dubbed and not watch anything w\subbed. Then some series I really wanted to watch wasn't dubbed so I sucked it up and watched it subbed and didn't mind it. So my anime horizon spread.

Now I think I prefer subbed, because I think the dubbed versions of SAO and Haganai are complete crap compared to the subs.

Dubs when I was a little kid.
Now it's subs/RAW all the way, as most dubbed versions of anime sound so awkward.

I used to like watching dub, like many of you here. Soon after I started watching sub and found that to be much more better. I'm not saying all dub are bad, some are really good that I end up watching it twice in both versions. This is just my personal opinion and I hope that I did not cause any dub likers to think that dub is bad.
