when watching anime, how do you prefer to watch them?
| Alright! people lets keep this one clean. I'd rather not have this thread turn into some raging subs vs. dubs war. Personally I choose subs, mainly because I thought that dubs are usually edited and censored hence, maybe lacking. This motivates me in searching for uncut anime. I enjoyed my first time watching subs. it was quite refreshing to me, I'm also interested in learning the Japanese language. |

| I would be subs only, except for pokemon, it was something I watched as a kid, and it just doesn't sit properly with me in Japanese. Pretty much watch the subs for the same reasons as everyone else, I want it as pure as possible, I'm also studying the language at university, so being exposed to it where possible is a real help. |

| Mainly subs. I watch dub occasionally just to see if Dubs are improving. If a show is edited, censored in anyways at all in dub... I'll jump back to sub in a heartbeat. |

| Polls in general are not a good means of promoting discussion. If people can anonymously leave their mark as to what their preference is then they won't feel inclined to elaborate it with a post. Especially considering the subject at hand couldn't be more sensitive. The topic might have generated more discussion without the poll and if nothing else I think one of MAL's mods opened up a thread dedicated to the discourse of this subject; duplicate threads aren't well-received by a lot of the community. |

| personal opinion is that a series ought to be watched in its original language if possible. I have one or two german films that I have with the original german voices and english subs - it just makes more sense to me. |

| Dubs and subs. I get real annoyed when people tell me I suck ass for liking anime in English. Well. I speak English and I like to listen to my shows, not read them. If I'm interested in a show I don't care which language I end up watching it in, it's not like there aren't DVDs and the internet. |

| This topic is already handled by the current dub v sub thread, even though the current vs thread doesn't have a poll attached. The older and locked dub v sub thread had a poll and I would imagine that the results are still pretty accurate even if some new users have joined since that one was locked. |

Well it's not so much about this thread not being good enough but there being another thread that covers this topic already. If the rules say no duplicates then why support the existence of a dup topic? Is it just because it hasn't been locked yet? It was intentional. I had no idea( why would I) that this kind of topic already was/is in discussions, so it's not like I support but I participate not knowing the facts. Same goes for 9gag. People repeat their memes , so others are angry, but for new users its NEW. So , please let's end this as ''REFRESHING'' . |
